this intro was meant to portray how real racing drivers express emotion and the seriousness of real racing. And this isn’t just any racing series, this is FIA GT1 which is extremely prestigious. Only people who appreciate Motorsport would understand this intro
exactly. My younger self, an avid arcade racer with tons of hours into NFSMW... when Shift 2 came out I was blown away. I used to say "meh motorsport racing is boring no real danger compared to cops and racers!!". but then this trailer came and I was legit scared. It dint help that the driving itself was way way more challenging than Most wanted and it took me long before I became good at it. The setting too, this trailer takes place in the most amazing race track not named Nürburgring/Le Man... Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps!!This game is what made me a motorsport fan. I remember watching the last of FIA GT1 and now WEC/IMSA racing is my favorite.
@@DeltaCressida speak for yourself, mate. Even when someone isn't a motorsport fan, they would still appreciate the intro, if not, they would have more reaction to it.
People call this Need For Speed intro boring, since the franchise itself gives a carelessly fun feeling. However, the Shift series turned to a much more dramatic environment when compared to the rest of the franchise, even the menu music was made to reflect an actual driver's POV when preparing to race.
In my opinion, this is one of the best intros in Need For Speed history. It shows just how intense motor racing can get and that even the smallest mistake can have big consequences. It shows the passion of the drivers in those cars, fighting for every position they can get.
This intro represents how much pain racers used to have in circuits and in the brutal accidents. So far this is the most darkest and creative NFS intro so far..
@@Cxltyy well this aged don't know if well or bad somehow, because I still remember the F1 crash where the car was literally split in half and the driver went out with only hand injuries.
Absolute masterpiece. I always thought racing was boring as fuck until I saw that intro, and literally that intro made me want to know more about GT racing in real life. And now i am passionate about it.
the intro and the music realy gave this game a certain vibe. its not like other racing games where for example you are just having fun and driving purely for the win. this game knew how to produce adrenaline and get you hyped by the cool but serious cutscenes. also the serious and sometimes dark music realy made some fast races on very hard circuits extra intense for me. having a nasty fast crash by just a small touch of a other car, and hearing the music "help is on the way" just after i exited that race really told me how fast disaster can strike, and how fast an driver kinda becomes a passenger...
I really wish NFS keep the Shift series as a spinoff. The regular NFS franchise focused on street racing like we used to know, while the Shift franchise focused on sanctioned motorsport races. It's like in between Forza Motorsport and Horizon or between Dirt and Dirt Rally.
It's mosty for the cop chases that some manufacturers (Ferrari 98-99, Mercedes 98-99, Honda all of the Blackbox era, Nissan 99 & 2005) have said no BMW was fine with the damage but didn't want their cars performance modifiied from 2002-2006 Ferrari only wants OEM mods
Now this entire intro was hands-down the best. It was everything I saw when I was a little kid. Everything to the dramatic turning and crashing into the sound everything was just so great. This was not just a racing game but the racing game
Samee it got ruined tho bc I dident know how to take care of disks back then and it got scratched, very nostalgic intro tho. Ah when life was full of no worries
only veteran pilots know how scary is race at night, with many other on the track, after the start that is a carnage, they know very well how many already died in that first turns. is not only care about yourself, you need to watch the others, maybe they will not be able to control de car and avoid to touch your, and just a touch can be a ruin for the life of some and the their families. i never was in a huge race, or in a race at night, but after many facts that my friends told, i feel it, if even that small races that i was there, i felt that claustrophobia, I think how would be without field of vision and 5 times more people disputing the same space in a narrow lane. in game we can just start over, but in real life the least important thing is your car, you can lost something forever, as a leg, an arm, your life, or live forever remembering that your mistake took the life of someone.
I like how this was recorded at 2560x1440 (with massive lag at the beginning, and stuttering throughout), yet it was uploaded, not even at 1080p, but at 720p.
Shift 2 was so hard. I'm sure it's best with a wheel controller. Epic game. Took me a long time to beat. I watched the intro everytime. And boom. Vaughn in your face like are you Ready To Rock 🤘🏼
Isso precisa ser explorado mais. Não só carros numa pista, mas sim sobre as pessoas que estão dentro deles, a 200 km. Esse jogo até hoje é um dos melhores de corrido sem duvidas.
Demon Media because the intro have a dark atmosphere to the theme of the game. It's supposed to reflect the intensity and the serious expressions of the real life racers when they are competing at the FIA GT1 championship. Oh yeah, I think the woman's screaming and the fact the drivers are wrecking and fiercely competing with each others for the battle, not to mention the heartbeat and the eerie background SFX can increase the nightmare fuel.
The porsche might have crashed into the rear wheels of another car which was braking heavily. When the Porsches front wheel hits the back wheel its almost like a kick ramp and will flip over. Thats my guess knowing the nature of race starts on that corner
I always thought it was epic. But after having a hell of a crash after a tyre came off the rim at 150 kph it's outright traumatic. They nailed the sound of slipping tyres and crushed metal, as well as that truncated point of view where one second you're watching in fear as you're hitting a solid object and next thing you know you're upside down gripping the wheel like a maniac in frightening silence. I really wish I'd taken the warning in the beginning more seriously.
was in a car accident going 140 hit the guardrail was told we spun 15 times i blacked out when we hit the rail dont remember much after and i was in a mustang my driver my friend was just being stupid lol
I wrecked my first car on a warm, wet night. Was being just like your friend, stupid lol. Had TC off and was going way faster than I should've been. Lost the tail end on an uphill corner, spun a few times before slamming passenger side first into a concrete embankment at 80mph. The sound was awful, vision was blurry, front end was demolished and threw coolant and fluid everywhere, windows were down so I didn't get filled with glass but was covered in ash from the wall I demolished. My body was sore for 2 weeks and I couldn't go to work the next day, between it not quite being comfortable to be on my feet and also still being slightly traumatized haha. Still wasn't enough to steer me away from cars though, I still drive a 2dr RWD coupe, and get spirited here and there, but the accident did give me a swift kick of reality and fear. Glad to hear you survived your wreck, was your friend alright btw?
power of ke kevin that was probably my problem when I had it on PC Intro and the clips between racing awesome but it was lagging bad as fuck. and the physics weren't so nice.. too sad
Underground 2 is one of the worst nfs ever. Why everyone thinks that U2 and MW are the best ones. They are very boring and long. I understood that even when i was a kid
@@sBinnotto nostalgia I guess, I played it growing up and I still love it. Although nothing was as gripping as The Run, that was a cinematic speed masterpiece
