I fixed mine. Took card out, took battery out, Inserted a post it note on the outside of the lens and went all around the lens. Felt for a spot where it slightly jams from crud. Kept going around till I felt it was clean. Sprayed an electronic element spray very lightly on it. Replace battery. In my mini screw set, I took the smallest one and inserted on the outside of the lens to pull lens out lightly and pushed power on and pulled screw driver out while pulling on lens..... Fixed....
I tried everything....My lens was stuck out with lens error finally I dropped it on purpose on a soft carpeted floor and that fixed it sometimes it's all about brute force and ignorance.....lol
Thank you, thank you Tom. I thought no way I'm not going to drop it, but I did, you were absolutely right. It worked for me. Thanks so much! I am glad I listened to you.
Listening to other RU-vidrs, one comment was "take the camera cap," thinks it is on. No cap on this camera but I decided to spread and hold the lens center flaps apart, push button on, and it turned on. Turned off and back on it works!
My coolpix also does the same.Terrible design fault with these cameras.I got cross with mine and whacked it and the lens did stop jamming for a while but then jammed again.
You could use a tool that you use on glasses to fix the arms and nose piece that’s a small enough screwdriver to get those screws out. but on a sidenote I would take pictures on your phone of The placement of everything like the screws or any wires or anything that you may have to take apart on the inside so you know where they go back to and how they were done in the first place that was a lesson that was learned the hard way. Also With another camera of mine same brand I had an issue with the shutter or the lens cover just not wanting to open all the way so I used a little WD-40 just a tad bit on a cotton ball or a Q-tip and rub it around the outside of the crease or the rim of the lens and see if that doesn’t lubricated a little bit or you can even use Windex on a cotton ball or a Q-tip I wouldn’t spray it directly in it or onto it that might cause some problems but if you get enough lubrication in there it might open or loosen up some more dirt and debris that might be in there! Or just lubricate It enough to get it open to where you can clean it out the rest the way if there’s anything left in there
Honestly if I can find it I will try that, I never took it apart but I've done a lot more since then Ruth electronics so I will try it. Thank you for the advice
My camera did that and its the same one i bought a nrw shirt and the tag i used that and got out all the dirt or whatever i could and it was fixed so try getting one of those things tjen get the dirt out it takes time
Iki Niki I have not, pretty much everyone told me I'd either just have to just buy a new one or its like $40 to fix it, but keep trying. it's like dirt or something jamming the lense
Try factory reset. Plug in an av cord to take any battery power away from the led screen. Gives full power to the lens. Battery might be charged but old and just not strong enough to open the lens. If lens pops out grab it and turn slightly if it doesn't do the turn on its own. Next time get your camera from a pawn shop. They test them and usually take returns with in a couple weeks.
R. Kelly: Well I was just standing here, and Nikon Lens locked himself in the closet. I asked myself "Why won't Nikon Lens just come out the closet?" Nobody has no answers, and so I pull out my gun! Tell me why Nikon Lens in the closet or else I'm gonna shoot someone!
SkeliTor Visari Im a new Photographer And i put the camera in my pocket and when i took it out the shutter was off i have tried everything im might take it to the shop tonight
