I currently have a decorative rod with drapery panel. Looks fine but I had side by side roman shades at my old house that I loved! A single one is or can be very heavy.

Hang a double rod: draperies on the outer edges, sheers on the "inside"/ underneath. You curtain clips for a polished look and for the easiest open/close.

Maybe you've thought of a solution by now, but I've got an idea anyway for this window. Like you said, you still need to use the door - so any curtains can't be getting in the way. Depending on your climate, you can't let these windows go uncovered because the curtains would provide protection from the cold on the other side of the window. What you need is something that will provide protection from the cold (or heat as far as that goes) AND something that will provide privacy when you want it. The only way you will be able to do this is to put a rod up that will be wide enough to cover the windows BUT extend the width off to the side as well. You would need enough width to enable you to pull the curtains completely off to the side and leave the window completely free of the curtains. If you want sheers, you'd need to do the same with the rod for the sheers, but make sure it is far enough away from the curtain rod so it doesn't cause interference. I've got a rod just sitting right now I was going to do this with, but it's been sitting for so long, you can't even find pinch pleat drapes anymore, lol! To be able to easily and smoothly pull the curtains back and forth, you would need rings wide enough to be able to do exactly that. The rings would actually be easier to work with then a drapery rod anyway. The reason for the extra width could be to get the curtains completely out of the way of the window - because you still need to use the door to get in/out. Hope this helps. Maybe a valence you've shown would be decoratively nice too. You would have to put that valance up high and out enough to not interfere with the curtains.

My Solution for that is simple replace the glass a transparent one put a curtain match with the color of your door jamb which is off white if i am correct or dark color if you want. The curtain will roll side by side & put wooden cladding side by side and on the top.

I should also mention that I'm really good at getting ideas that there is no hardware for, lol! I suppose you could get a rod custom made for your purposes.
