Keeper of the Lost Cities is such staple on my channel that I thought I would make a video of why you should read it. I love it, if you can't tell! Thank you! Amiee
I love the "crumbling utopia" world that they live in. The Lost Cities is a world that I would love to live in (or at least visit), but at the same time it has too many flaws within its system to be a perfect world.
@@plasmetic_gamer9668 As do many great children's stories. Kids can handle darkness, at least when there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Even some middle grade has been allowed to get scary enough to effect adult readers.
My rating ps on all the books 8. Flashback (Too much Romance, the beginning is slooooow!) 7. Lodestar (Super sad!) 6. Nightfall (I don’t know....!) 5: Exile (It felt a little slow but I still love it!) 4. Keeper of the Lost Cities (First book, so ya know) 3. Legacy (Sooo many things revealed, felt like the end, sad ending!) 2. Neverseen (We can relate to this one/ ViRuS, and action!) 1. Everblaze (so much action!) I love all of them though! I’m obsessed with reading now....
I LOVE KOTLC. I picked it up last summer and adored it and read it in practically a day! I'm glad to see more people, specifically BookTubers, who love KOTLC! Do you have any theories on Unlocked? 😀 I recently subscribed.
Last week I finally decided to start this saga.. I was so in love with it that I read the entirety of the first book in one day. Never happened to me befoe, it is sooooo good!
For such long books I've always finished them really quickly, like on average I'll finish a new Keeper book in a week. Except Legacy, that one took 24 hours. I think it's because I read them during my classes when a new one comes out skfhg.
Thank you for this video. I know your older ( as am I) and you do not care what other people think about reading this middle grade series. You are very inspiring to do what you like. I started the first book on kindle last night thank you again for giving me that extra push to read these books.
I have started reading this series and I'm loving it so so much 💖💖💖💖 I finished reading the 3 books in 3 days and I can't stop myself from reading more but I also don't want to finish it so quickly because I love it so much 💗💗💗💗💗
I’m here because i was in a bookstore and i saw the book, and i wanna see how ✨THICK✨ It is. I love long books, it occupies my time and so i will still have something to read.
I started Keeper of the lost cities yesterday! So far the begging was great! I hope It’ll be an exciting ride for me. Your input is invaluable for me 🌟
Avery Hanseman I’m still in book two but I’m feeling more towards Keefe. I like Fitz but I prefer Keefe because of his sense of humor and I feel like I want a balance between empathy and telepathy soooo
@@sn1gl3t I finished all 8 books like a week ago and OMG! yes I dislike Fitz so much T_T I was so hardcore on Sokeefe by Neverseen I couldn't stand Fitzroy's insensitive and self-centered personality. I was so happy that Sophie did not take him back because their relationship really wasnt working out it was so toxic. Fitz is too obsessed with his public figure and hates it when things won't go his way and Sophie even admitted that she feel insecure and awkward like the whole time in Legacy it did not feel like they were "dating"
@@sn1gl3t Sorry to all Sophitz fans but to me, they are such a dry pairing. their attraction to one another is merely infatuation or a petty crush. Fitz acts as if he likes Sophie to feel entitled or because their CoGnAtEs... and it gets annoying how Sophie always compliments him as this good looking teal eye boy with the movie star grin... Like ghurl can't even compliment her "boyfriend" based on personality. This whole time Sophitz just like the idea of each other. Sokeefe on the other hand has always had a deeper connection and their affection and relationship in general comes so natural. They're both willing to sacrifice for each other and that is so healthy and refreshing to read. Sokeefe is obvs superior. Keefe already said that Sophie is also romantically interested in him but decides not to force her and will wait until she's ready like if that ain't true love then I dont know what is.
This series helped me as I went through a lot of annoying orthodontic work. I just love the series, & I love taking about it with my sisters who read it too!
I was in a Bookstore earlier going to pick a few things for my science project, then i walked through the Young Readers Section, where i usually get my book ideas to read, then i saw this book. Im planning to get it soon
i tried reading book one awhile ago but i couldnt continue because i was reading the harry potter series at the same time but now ive decided that im going to give it a go and not compare it to harry potter its actually a very good series
That dog behind you is so cute 😍 and the one who came after that..... I was full time seeing them and watched the video 2nd time to see the real content 😅😂😂
WANNA READ THEM ALLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! btw ur great I don't think I would have been able to talk about the book without saying spoilers! I feel like something bad is gonna happen in the last one... great vid!
Well, I'm really old *cough* forties *cough.* But I read and write YA, and have been both a teen and tween librarian. Actually, I ran a tween book club with a coworker for years. Anyway, somehow we missed KotLC. After rereading all the heady and heavy Dune books this summer, I finally picked up KotLC. I just started Everblaze, and may I just say, I can't remember the last time I've had this much fun with a book series ....
I have never read this book before but now I want to read it actually I'm going to listen to it on audible but same thing just because of your video makes me want to listen to it... Thank you
I used to love this series, but it just annoys me now. We're 8 books into the series and we know almost nothing about the neverseen and their goals, sophie's purpose, or any of the secrets of the Elvin world. It's stopped being fun and mysterious and now it's just plain frustrating. Sophie is forever failing for the same stupid reasons. She hasn't had any character development at all.
@@VioletteWoods Sokeefe. The ships are a little annoying too. It's obvious she's gonna end up with Keefe. I feel like Shannon's only drawn it out this much because she knows half of her fans are only reading her books for the ships.
@SpotlightVlogs and Reactions Not really. All they did in the first book was kidnap Sophie so they could get info on the black swan from her. What exactly has all of this been for? What's their end goal? To kill all the humans? It's not really clear. There also isn't a solid "villain" character for us to root against. First it was brant and Fintan, the Gisela, and when Vespera came into the picture it seemed like she would be the end game villain Sophie would have to defeat. But once her parents were free, Vespera wasn't really relevant to Sophie's trauma anymore so Shannon just kinda dropped her. She didn't even show up in book 8.
@SpotlightVlogs and Reactions I've been obsessed with the series since it first came out and every time a new book is released I reread all of the previous books as a refresher. I've read this series eight times now lol. It's not that it's bad per se, I just feel like it has a lot of wasted potential. With some tweaking here and there, it could have been a really good series. Maybe even harry potter level popularity, but who knows. And at this point, the neverseen have had so many leadership changes that not even Sophie knows what they're planning at this point. If Gisela's aim was to trap humans in a sanctuary. why would she need to experiment on her son? I know in the beginning they talked about the human sanctuary but it hasn't really been seriously mentioned since and I feel like it's not the neverseen's end goal anymore, if it ever was. And it's not just the neverseen stuff that irks me. Tbh what bothers me the most is Sophie's total lack of character development.
@SpotlightVlogs and Reactions I don't know if you read my previous comment or not, but it was literally me saying we have no idea what they're planning anymore. Sure, Alden mentioned the human sanctuary at the time, but it hasn't been talked about seriously since then. The neverseen also haven't done anything to reach that goal. What was the point of destroying Lumenaria, messing with Keefe's genes, or experimenting on the trolls? How does any of that relate to creating a human sanctuary? Also, the neverseen have had so many leadership changes, with Gisela's vision then Fintans vision and now possibly a mix of Vespera and Gisela's plans, that they might not even have the same goals they started out with.
@SpotlightVlogs and Reactions wasn't trying to say it's a bad series. personally, I really like it. I can be a bit of a perfectionist at times, and little details bother me is all. There's nothing wrong with voicing my opinion. You can't get mad and call me negative just because I'm not as enthusiastic about the series as you. Sometimes it's hard to judge a book when you're reading it through rose-colored glasses.
I finished the first book today and I can’t wait to get the second one.I have always loved like action sort of books like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson but this is definitely starting to be in my top 3 books and I’m only on the first one. There is just so many plot twists at the end and I love that aspect which I expect to be in the other ones.I just hope that the other s are as good as the first.😁😁😁
This should be a great series if your under 8 the author is very very long-winded the storyline needs a lot of improvement some of the characters are quite good others are not even fully comprehensible I'm sad to say this whole series could have been put down in a short story best of luck to the author of future
The 1st 100 pages of Book 1 was very interesting but i found the next 125 pages pretty dull. Not much happens. I hope the 2nd half of the Book is better.
Hi I have a question for the people that read the books. I'm from Spain I speak spanish and I want to read more in english, so I saw this books and they really attract attention to me, so I wanna read them but I don't know if the english is difficult or not, so plis tell me about it. Thanks
i've been kinda hesitant about starting this beloved series because of the lack of diversity and the sexism that I've heard is prominent throughout it.
