100% good advise on solo travellers. I went solo and loved every minute of it. There is even an argument to be made that solo is actually better. Alaskan excursions are the most expensive of all. I am retired on a disability pension. Just getting to Alaska breaks the bank. Fortunately my interests are simple. Good food and bev, live music, and picturesque landscapes to gaze upon.
Doing the land/cruise September 2024 with Holland America. Booked a Neptune suite on aft of ship…only excursion I’ve booked so far is helicopter to glacier with dog sledding but still deciding what to pick in the other 2 ports. First 3 days are land at Denali and still trying to find things to do while there…open to suggestions. Any advise appreciated. Thanks
Sounds great! I can recommend the Kroschel wildlife center in Skagway (or Haines.) I have never done the land portion or been to Denali. I bet it's gorgeous!
