It all depends on your skill set and your experience on scrambling. The reason why I brought ropes is because I had my wife with me and other ladies that are not that experienced with scrambling. I thought that it would be another layer of safety. But, you can go without it, definitely. 😀👍Hope you have a safe hike to the needle. It is my favorite hike in the Coquihalla. 👍👍👍

No...the harness is not necessary but I usually do it for my wife on a safer side...i climb the Needle without harness...😃🙏

There is no water source at the needle but there is water source at Flat Iron...i suggest you camp at Flat iron the hike the needle as well...Flat iron has its own beauty

yes....pero ang dumi Pre...mga melted snow pero if you go to flat iron flowing and water source mo...hindi siya stagnant😃 pero pag may mga water tabs kayo...pwedi rin naman siguro....ako kasi only if no option ako sa water source then i would drink it....he he he he

Most definitely. You can do this without climbing equipments or harness. I decided to get climbing equipment for my wife for extra step of safety but not a must. we used All trails app for navigation and yes...you can get lost especially at the last push to the needle and may possibly get stuck and trap so make sure to be very careful when looking for the right trail. if not sure, I suggest to wait for other people who knows the trail. Needle is always busy so won't take long to wait for someone to ask questions....good luck and be safe.
