Neelavelicham: Technically brilliant but storywise not upto the mark....... I ❤ the way how Aashiq Abu handles technicality in his films. Let it be salt and pepper, 22 fk, even though the Mammootty film ' Gangster ' didn't go well, the other aspects of the movie are always good in Aashiq Abu films. The same is applicable for Neelavelicham also. When Bhargavinilayam released during 1964, the movie came out at its best with horror mood, acting, mesmerizing songs etc.. And ofcourse V.M.B( Vaikom Muhammed Basheer ) his writing like M.T sir and ofcourse other great writers, had an amazing story telling. So, why was this movie re-created and had a wrong casting?? Only actor I felt who did his job was Shine Tom and apart from that no one else was better. No way the songs w re-created with reprise versions also didn't go well with the movie. When we have Dasettan who already did the best version in Bhargavinilayam, redoing it was a mistake. . Even when Rathinirvedam and Neelathamara was re created, the movie was good and all the songs were new and it was on the top charts during that time. Felt Tovino, Rima, Roshan was a miscast for this movie. It's not only looks that matter, but emotions also matters that too when you re-create a movie, directed by A.Vincent during 1964... If I rate it out of 10, I would give a full 5/5 for the technical side because photography, art work, make up everything went well. But for the movie and the songs, I would only give a 1/ 5 because, I didn't like it much... Overall 6/10... Aashiq ji, you can make best movies with amazing scripts.. Pls don't recreate movies until it goes with our generation because this movie in our times is nothing great...
