This is a top tier negative harmony. It has a far more subtle optimism than the original and has a sound reminiscent of 70s prog rock, which I personally think makes it better than the original.
Boh Rha was one of the most interesting but there are more enjoyable and beautiful examples: IMO the level of the covers in the first 3 months of 2024 is the most consistent and the best, the OP is really putting a huge effort to get better and better. I wouldn't express my opinion about the 'prog factor' of this version, I don't wanna offend anyone who stand with the current idea of what is prog.

@@chobies5383 Haha, i live in the UK and i know no historical context, i just looked up a map of the U.S and chose the diagonally opposite state. If theres a more suiting state let me know ;)
@@bikemerchant3280as another person not from the US, I find the diagonal choice very fitting. You're just applying negative harmony to coordinates. It's beautiful.
I was going to say that the negative harmony makes the riff sound less like Sweet Home Alabama and more like a primitive version of Mary Jane's Last Dance
"Bitter Out California" has some really wicked licks and I very much look forward to someone making guitar tabs for this version. Only downside is how the lower vocals take a bit of the sting out of the song for my liking. A higher harmony for the vocals might work but I guess that defeats the whole purpose of negative harmony. Speaking of California, can't wait for when "Hotel California/Home South Dakota" comes out. 🤩
Could you please do The Toadies Possum Kingdom, I feel like it's Gothic Rock tone would be a much different emotional experience to hear as your negative harmony covers. And of course thank you for your great covers
