This video is definitely a change of pace from my normal uploads, but I think many of you will enjoy it. Don't worry, still plenty of garage time (almost all of it actually) but with a more personal touch. It's a long one, but I think its worth it. Plenty of memories, mechanical workings, frustrations, elations and other emotions in this one. Kick back, grab some snacks and drinks, and enjoy watching me bring this 70 year old mini bike back to life!
The Captain John Sax foundation is below. Tell them I sent you!
captjohnjsaxfoundation.org/
Parts used on the bike:
Generator belt: amzn.to/3Yj4ZPd
Fuel Shut-off valve: amzn.to/3Yj4ZPd
Grips: amzn.to/3OIhlwY
Fuel Line: amzn.to/3OnciAJ
Seat: amzn.to/3qeX2Op

I watched this video earlier this morning with my boyfriend. First, I appreciate that you love and honor your friend, Capt Nicholas Losapio, his Grandpa, Noble and the rest of the family his family, Capt John J. and yourself as well, who you are as a friend. I am sad for your loss. I can't imagine the void. I loved your video, I appreciate your heart and the friendship you and Nick have which knows no bounds. Take care of yourself Chris. Please, extend my regards to Nick's mom. She seems like a real spitfire and fun lady, respectfully. She was jammin' on that lil scooter bike... vintage pit bike😊

Wow Chris, I never thought one of your videos would bring a tear to my eyes, but this one did. What a great job on bring this mini bike back to life. Your videos are just the best. I wish I had the patients and skill to do some of the things you do on your cars. I'm also very impressed on your editing on all your videos and the music back round which is always timely. Again, you are a pro at this, keep them coming. Thank you!!

Whoever made that "bike" bike was creative. They probably cut up some bikes to Frankenstein this together. Nice idea for a mini bike.

Good job on the video and resto work. I am 77 yrs old and remember engines like that from my youth. My Dad and I built a go-kart from scrap parts and metal pipe. My engine was from a garden tractor and not like that one. A friend also had a homebuilt kart with an engine very similar. Sears sold them and they were called Power Products. They did use them on their chain saws. David Bradley was their chainsaw name. The clutch/ transmission reminds me of a Cushman Eagle, which looked very similar. Could be, who knows? Great story and thanks for doing it. Al Hook

I've seen all of your content and have learned a lot from you but I never thought that I would be balling tears out like this from your channel. Man.... My heart breaks for you and Cpt. LoSapio family ,friends & troops under his command. Seems like the military had a lot of issues with the Osprey, as well as the new unit they are introducing soon. Lots of issues with the design. Neither here nor there, just keep in mind you and Nicks family will meet again one day. Great way to honor him and his grandpa. To all of those who serve, has served, thank you for the sacrifice each of you have made for our country, and never allow those who have fallen for our freedoms, to be forgotten. All we can do is hope our country can somehow unite soon and we can all be proud to be Americans.

Im be honest and blunt. When i saw this video i was passing forward like crazy bcuz i seen it was so long video just thought it was a remodeling the lil motorcycle but when i saw nick mom surprise n in tears i had to go all the way back to the start of the video and see this amazing transfrom that really touch the bottom of my heart 😢.. i was amazed how old was the motorcycle and for you to do all that and put in all your heart into it made me feel surprised... Crazy thing was, i seen all that rain the was pouring outside the garage until you rode it for the first time to test it out the sun came out... I was thinking they both looking down and was surper happy to see that motorcycle turn on and ride again that a blessing from above in beyond... This really touch me so much and all types of ways... Sorry for your loss but i know Nick is around somewhere around happy for you to do that for him and his grandfather... GOD really bless you Chris and hope nothing but joy towards you and your family and Nick family as well... plus GOD bless that motorcycle as well it came out super great.. love the transform you did outstanding job... 💯💯🙏🙏🙏🙏

Back in the 50's there was stick welding I believe but for a project such as this I think Oxy/Acetelene torch's were most likely what was used as you could weld or braise with almost any material including coat hangers (metal of course) it was an extremely versatile welding and cutting system.
