You’re getting really good at making these videos!!! Im sure I speak for many other bartenders and sommeliers by saying thank you for all your hard work and making our geeking out time so educational as well as entertaining late at night!!! Cheers!!!🤘
Wow i just found this hidden gem of a channel. I love these "The History of..." episodes. That's a happy subscription from me and i'm going on a binge watching your videos. Keep up the quantity i don't understand RU-vid algorithm one bit but this channel deserves a few hundred thousands subs at least.
Really appreciate the time you give to the history behind these classic cocktails. I can google drink recipes and get my answer in 2 seconds... but understanding the history and circumstance surrounding the drinks is invaluable. That, and understanding why you choose the ingredients that you choose makes watching a 10 min video worth it. Cheers.
Awesome! This was a fun video. And of course, this drink is a classic for a reason. In case you haven't seen it, I did a video on the Gin Basil Smash (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hgzlUiT17WU.html). Sounds like you'll dig it.
Thanks. A lot of that footage was period and location accurate. However, the footage inside the bars were from the 20's and 30's, so not quite the same as the early 1900's when Camillo was there. Also, the footage of the trial was from the Lindbergh kidnapping trial, so not exactly the right time and place. Haha. Most of the pictures of Camillo, Fosco, the letter, the batched "Negroni" was from Luca Picchi's book. He found all that great stuff.
Roku works super well for the same reasons Astral Pacific does and it's my favorite for Negronis. The citrus combines so well into that fresh grapefruity flavor with the bitterness of the campari. It just makes a perfect summer drink imo. Great video as always man.
I've seen a lot of videos about the Negroni, one of my absolute favourite cocktails, and I have to admit that this is one of the most impressive and detailed videos about the drink and it's history. Very well done!
Awesome! Glad you liked it so well. This was a fun one to do. Check out the Pisco Sour (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XR3XMUzYx9k.html) and the Singapore Sling (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yN--H81Jg-Q.html), they also have some pretty detailed history on the origins of the drinks. Cheers!
Look at that beautiful bottle of Cocchi Vermouth di Torino. A mezcal Negroni is my go-to first drink on Fridays after a week's worth of work, although I serve it up in a Nick and Nora. Wonderful video.
I love learning in general and right now, I am big in to spirits, especially Gins, and Amaros. These Gins look fabulous! Love the Negroni and some of the variations that have appeared, lately. I like a Negroni over a big block of ice so I can sip in slowly! Gorgeous and blissful. Delicious!
Last year I did a barrel aged negroni, and the vanilla and spice notes from the barrel took everything to another level. Also, I usually have lemons on hand more than oranges, so I garnish with a 🍋 twist. Reminds me of groundhogs day actually.
What a coincidence! I've been looking into and making a lot of negroni for the summer. Apparently, there's a variation of a negroni that just throws a .5 ounce cold brew into the mix. It's delicious. I recommend.
If you haven't tried it yet, make it with St. George's Dry Rye gin. The gin stands up to the other two ingredients and really combines to make a sublime Negroni.
As always love it! But a slight commentary on the music, for my tast its a bit to loud during the video. Its bit distracting, i fell like its normal at 10% and now at 16%. Other that love the remake!
Glad you liked it. Sorry the music was a little hot. It sounds okay to me on different speakers, but you're not the only one who had a problem with it.
Not to be picky, but i think picchi is pronounced with a hard 'c', in italy 'i' or 'e' makes a hard 'c' or 'g' if there is an 'h' before the 'i' or 'e'
