I’m a mechanical engineer. I spent 18 years in residential/commercial design for A/C units, then another 18 yrs in custom design for stainless explosion proof units for offshore platforms. Your idea of leaving coverage over the condensing is good, but just make sure there’s at least 3 foot clearance around them. Nice job btw 👍😎
Just came upon your page. You did a beautiful job on this property. I like that you were respectful to the neighbor that wanted you NOT to mow the lawn, just to make the homeowner suffer. We do not know the homeowners situation, it is better to treat everyone with kindness, so thank you for having a kind heart. I subscribed to your page, you have a new fan, stay safe and may you have a joyful life!
Just cut the lawn, the neighbors are being jerks, apparently, they don't get along with each other. I'm sure they would really appreciate the help!! God bless, you boys
Hey Dylan. I think you made the right choice. With the house cleaned up and open to the street, it may come to pass, that someone drives by and sees the property and might make an offer on the property, enough that the owner might accept, and everybody wins, right ?? A Cleaned up Property is a Sellable Property. Well Done !!
That was one neighbor that had a beef with the owner. The other neighbors might want to see it cleaned up like the one that stopped to thank you! Who knows what the owner is going through. They could have had a loss, an illness or are dealing with some mental health issues. Glad you cleaned it up for them! I know it was a huge undertaking and you must have been exhausted but I wish you cut down the bush down more. I hear it's not good for the AC to be that covered (my daughter's ex bf was an hvac professional) and I wish you had done the backyard even if you had to do a 2nd day (some others I watch go back to finish the next day) Couldn't they still be fined for the back if a neighbor (that neighbor) complains? Great job regardless, glad you did it for them!
Yes you did the right thing. I think that maybe the neighbors didn't get along with the home owner, & they were just being vindictive, by trying to get the home owner fined. I feel really sorry for the next owners, when it comes to having that woman as a neighbor. People like that really need to get a life, & keep their noses out of other people's business. She should be ashamed of herself. I also feel sorry for her other neighbors, who have to put up with her.
You've got to do the whole yard if you want to grow in RU-vid there's a lot of people out there doing complete transformation so go the extra mile and do it right 👍
Yes, you did the right thing by cutting stuff down. Yes, I love to have bushes plants also but there is NO ONE taking care of the pro. So start from the beginning so it will take a while to grow back. It sounds like the owner is having nothing to do with it and the town does not care about how the neighbors are having to put up with all the nonsense happening at the property. So yes you did absolutely what needed to be done. God bless you 2 for caring. Great job! Watching from North Carolina.
Some people don't like that others do things out of the goodness of their hearts and try to make the neighborhood look better! Btw, black mold could spread to their home so, the homeowners need to definitely take care of it! Great job!
You did the right thing. The neighbor is vindictive and wants to punish the owner of the house. The neighbor ought to keep her nose out of it. You handled it with diplomacy and tact by letting her know that she and the other neighbors could see the house better by cutting the bushes in front of the house. This could forestall criminal activity in the entire neighborhood. Again, unless she's willing to help the property owner, the neighbor ought to keep her damn nose ought of it. You are improving the property values of owners in the neighborhood free of charge. The nosy neighbor should thank you for your work.
The value of the neighbors' property will increase if this property is cleaned up. The lady just wants to punish a neighbor and doesn't know their situation CUT IT. New Subscriber- here, Grear Job
When has kindness been replaced with vengeance? You have no idea on the story and yet by cleaning it up without a fine is a very kind action. The neighbourhood will look better.
How sad that her neighbor would rather it sit just so the owner be charged, who honestly is not in a good situation. No compassion...I say do you! Yes, Clean it up....
Yes! Why would neighbors want someone to be charged so much money, when they don't have any idea what predicament these homeowners are in? It looks very nice, and I applaud you for going ahead with this transformation.
WOW! You did everyone a favor! Everybody that is a cyclist wants to thank Alyssa for NOT BLOWING GRASS onto the Road! So much Safer! and she is the BOSS on that mower! Once again, THANK YOU to both of you for your contribution to the neighborhood! :)
Terrific work! Your decision was spot-on. I firmly believe in the principle of erring towards actions that are well-intentioned and beneficial. The property is truly stunning. Here’s to hoping that the homeowner can come back and express their gratitude for your help in preventing a potential fine.
A little tip for you and your wife that I learned when I used to work in a Feedmill shoveling grain. Always throw your shovel load across your body if possible. It’s one sweeping motion and you’re not torquing your back like you are from the same side. 🙂
Did this at the cannery years ago. Used a long handled manure scoop..took a bite and in one swift motion.. bending my knees came up crossbody and slung the mess over my shoulder with a slight twist of waist to make sure it landed on the garbage belt at mid boob height. Lot easier using legs in tandem with arm and back. Keep it tight to your body to reduce fatigue. Did it till i was 55years old and retired early. By the way i am 5ft one and female. This system works. Mom taught me cleaning barns. Lol. It's about feeling good and not wiped out after doing your best job. Satisfaction.
I would have asked several neighbors concerning their options about the property. She maybe vindictive or harbor feelings towards the homeowner. And as you stated one does not know what the homeowner maybe going through. So I believe you made the right call.
It's important to allow for AIR around the AC unit. It draws air IN for its pump & exhausts HOT air so that should not blow ON the bushes above it. A bit of sun is less harmful than choking it.
Just my opinion, but I think you should choose to do all the edging before you start mowing. Throw the cuttings up in the grass and then mulch it all. Will save you some time and fuel.
You did the right thing. Thank you. The property across the street from my daughter was the same. Had been a hoarder house, the lady passed away from her hoard falling and pinning her and no one knew for a few weeks. Anyway, the family just left it with no upkeep. Now 10 years later they auctioned it for unpaid taxes. But before the county auctioned it, it needed inspection. The smell was so bad the county condemned it without going in. A bank bought it and put a fence around it and filled 5, 20x8foot dumpsters. Then the bank decided that they would allow this guy to work on it and live there. That’s when it became a lab for making drugs. It finally caught on fire. And was recently knocked down. You did the right thing.
Yes I agree with you !!! We don’t know the situation with the owners and I’m sure the majority of the neighborhood is so very thankful for you !!!! God Bless you and the hard work you do I thank you 😊
I’m glad you made the right decision by helping out. I myself would be happy as a homeowner around that house if it got cleaned up. we don’t know what’s going on around that house but if it’s cleaned up, we know our kids and ourselves will be safe
Yes. Hopefully the homeless will stay out of it and the owner also may now do something about getting rid of it or having the house torn down. Mold is not a good thing. I know the neighbors were very happy with the results and it does look so good. Thanks for caring about a overgrown yard and this community. Your a good man Sir.
Just a suggestion but, have you guys ever thought about sharpening your shovels? I saw another landscape RU-vidr named midlife stockman he sharpened his shovel with his grinder. From my perspective it look like it made shoveling the edges and things of that sort easier.
I would have called the city and notified them that you are there and doing at no cost to anyone. Great volunteering yourself and donating your time to the homeowners and the community.😊
Also, you should have done the edging the way we all do, before you cut the grass. That way you can pick up all the edged grass at the same time you cut it.
Of course you made the right decision. Sounds like she is a very spiteful and nasty individual with a grudge for some unknown reason. I will never understand how some people can be like that. You are doing a kindness for the owner and the neighbors, keep up the good work.
it amazes me that these people wanting to make themselves victims! those homeless people may see them as a "easy mark!" thank you for blessing your community.
It was one person, a neighbor. Not neighbors. One person with a bad attitude. If I were to live on either side of that house, or across the street, I know I'd want that eyesore cleaned up properly.
