How would you feel if a huge pig factory was built within a few hundred metres of your home?
In this deeply moving portrait of small communities in rural Denmark, we visit the families that bought their homes in small villages decades ago - when the Danish countryside was home to small family run farms, but who now find themselves surrounded by large industrial pig factories, which have ruined their lives.
Over 200 chemical substances are emitted from these facilities, making the local residents sick. Their houses are impossible to sell. The social life of the community is non-existent due to the unrelenting stench seeping out of the factories.
For too long, national governments have ignored the local people fighting for their health and communities. Now is the time to hear their stories.
