Oh wow!! Thank you so much for remembering how much I love Neil. This is vintage Neil and probably his most identifiable song. Neil is a poet. His songs are introspective and also lighthearted, like "Sweet Caroline" which he wrote with Caroline Kennedy in mind. Probably his most incredible work was the score he wrote for the movie, "Jonathan Livingston Seagull". If you are familiar at all with the book of the same name, it's basically about a seagull who refuses to conform to the limitations of the rest of the flock... he wants to soar higher and farther than any seagull before, to the laughs and jeers from the rest of the flock, so he leaves them and goes off on his own in search of his dreams. Neil captured in songs this amazing story so poetically with haunting melodies. Thanks so much again, Roskoe. 🤗
Hey Roskoe. We are the Rosconites! I am not the biggest Neil Diamond fan but he does have alot of good songs like this one. For some reason in the beginning he reminded me of Bob Dylan.
