My mother is dying of pancreatic cancer. This is her favorite song. It has given her comfort. I sing it to her quietly while I lay next to her. I love you Mom.
Today I am listening to this in honor of my best friend who passed away a year ago yesterday. He loved Neil and during many of our weekly taco nights at the local bar where we'd reconnect mid week and a bunch of us would hang out for drinks and dollar tacos, we'd play this on the jukebox and get the whole bar singing. We live in a very small town where every one knows each other. This song will always bring those great memories back to me. RIP Dale. You're missed and loved so much!
YES! May God Bless you both...rest in PEACE Dale you guys had excellent taste for quality and perpetual endurance, fortitude and perseverance in listening to my favorite Neil Diamond as an Escape2 music for sure no doubt about it you gaggle of ridiculous dudes out there
same here S A L U D !!! I'll pray for his soul and say a Chaplet of Divine Mercy now in the 3 pm o'clock hour for a drought from the cup of mercy to quench Dale's thirst... yol bolsun "may there be a road" to heaven and meet again someday
As a young soldier serving in an armoured workshops based in West Germany during the early 70's in the cold war I first heard Neil Diamond. I was stunned at this magnificent voice coming over the speakers. To this day I carry his music in my vehicle.
+Mel Moreira This came out when I was a kid and played constantly for a while. It was great then, and it's still great now. I was so thrilled when Amy and Howard both loved it!
My parents dont speak english but when they were young listened this song and both of them liked it. A lot of years later they got married and then I was born. When they picked my name suddenly the song Sweet Caroline was played on the radio so that's why my name is Dulce Carolina...the translation -incorrect- of this beautiful song. Always this has been our family song, my birthday and wedding waltz. Now we are expecting for the great concert in Mexico City
Neil Diamond "Sweet Caroline" you take me back to a time when kisses were soft, innocent and beautiful. A time when true love was blooming. Your music will forever be a part of the love I've known.
My brother favorite song back in 1973 listening to songs in this time era. My brother was killed in Aug 1973 remembering good times growing up with him. Love and miss him everyday
I was at a Neil Diamond performance and when this song was presented the audience during and after became animated, at the end of the piece the very structure because of the reaction of the audience literary caused the whole structure to shake and vibrate with the enthusiasm of those present at the performance. It was an unforgettable moment. The power of all those present made the concrete and steel of the structure vibrate with enthusiasm and respect of those thousands of paying participants present.
I had forgotten how handsome he was early on! Saw him a few years ago in Pittsburgh and he was trim, good-looking, and still incredibly dynamic. One of my all-time favorites! Thanks for posting this!
What a great time Ellie, Jean and I had singing back-up for Neil on so many of his early recordings! He was then...and is now...a great person and talent!
One of the most moving and uplifting songs of all time...If you're in a bad mood, listen to this song!...I guarantee, that, you'll feel much better, after, doing so!
This was my aunts favorite song. She passed away two years ago. Every time I listen to this I think of her:) such good times we had. Love you Aunt Denise💗
went out for a party weekend in Dublin, shared a hotel room with my mate and he introduced me to this song, still reminds me of the most legendary weekend ever
Mami te quiero mucho y nunca te olvidaré.
This Became Oregon Beavers favorite song for baseball after we beat South Carolina in the world series twice in a row back in 05 and 06 I think it was.

Neil has a fantastic voice which makes the songs he sings something special. He imparts feeling to each song a quality few singers have nowadays. I feel he really means what he is singing. That is the reason in my twenties Neil Diamond was my favorite male Singer.
This song was always my mother ,Caroline her favorite, I grew up loving it as well and always reminds me of her when I hear Neil Diamonds voice. " Happy Mothers Day" Rest in Peace". With sweet music.
Pena que aqui no Brasil a maioria das pessoas não tenha gosto musical para ouvir essa voz maravilhosa que ainda encanta a muitos mundo afora. Obrigado Neil Diamond por viver no mesmo planeta que eu.
I´m sure your great aunt Jessie will fly high, she is still loving you, but now she is at a different dimension with only love, but she is still taking care for you! I have this experience with my father, he died 2010, and sometimes it seems he wants to give me some advice in my dreams! But we all don´t know and we can dream with songs like the one from Neil Diamond! Thank you Neil Diamond for playing this to us and all of your songs when you were older than in this video, may God bless you!! Greetings from Germany.
She surely lived a beautiful life. She was happy to know that you were in it. Remember that she loved many people, and not having you to love, her life would not have been complete. I am sure she now watches you, helping you when you are in need, along with all the other angels. Remember also that in her last moments, your presence put 1 last smile on her face. My condolences for your loss.
Brad Flash, thank you! You must know that I believe in God ,Jesus and Mother Mary! We are all living in a time of big changes to this world, but I think with working together we all have the chance to make this world become a beautiful place without war! May your Auntie and my Dad have a great time up there, I´m pretty sure they will be aware of our conversation, may God bless you Brad Flash!
One of my Dad's favorite singers, so I grew up listening to Neil Diamond and always heard this on my birthday, without fail. Caroline R. '-) A great memory!
Neil Diamond was my first crush. The first song I heard was Cracklin' Rosie and I was hooked. I love that he frequently had an entire orchestra playing with him. Such an amaazing singer. An excerpt from a book that was supposed to be an autobiography said that his high school music teacher said that he'd never go anywhere in music! Bet they felt pretty stupid when he hit it big!!
It's pretty sad.... I ADORE Neil even till this day... I am 39 years old and to see the stars in his eyes as he sings this song still takes me back to when I was a teenager and he was my first crush....
That is so heartbroken michelle my beautiful dad named me after that song, when i hear it i always think of him no matter how sad i feel it does help me, when i got engaged that song was played for me i will always love him, even though i miss him so much, michelle love never dies, your dad is always there for you ,i'm speaking from experience xx
An all Tim great song. I love this song beyond expression of words. Two very important women in my life who are no longer with us were very fond of this song. It brings back great memories.
If you ever want to see the 8th wonder of the world then watch the Brits singing sweet Caroline wherever karaoke is across the globe!!! Thank you so much Neil diamond as without you out party's would never be the same xx
as a 3 year old boy in 1971 I was always confused whenever I hear Neil DIAMOND songs as I always thought it was my Uncle singing as his name is Neil Dymond !!!! easy mistake for a 3 year old boy to make !!!! happy memories !!! 😀😀😀😀
Smiling and crying same time...this song is a memory maker and for me it has done just that. love it now and loved it then. First record my daddy bought for me!!!!
I do believe Neil Diamond and Elvis Presley looked a lot alike when they were younger: big shock of long, dark hair; commanding eyebrows; to-die-for eyelashes, twinkling eyes; and very sensuous lips. See Elvis' "Bridge Over Troubled Water," and Neil's "Sweet Caroline." And both with amazing vocal range. Is saying "Eye Candy" being "out of it"?

Easily the most popular of Diamond and everyone's favourite. I bet anyone who is a Neil Diamond fan can sing along to this! heck its one of those tunes you sing loudly in the shower!
As for me, I remember the early 1970s, when outstanding Ondrej Nepela, a Slovak ice dancer and a world and Olympic champion then, performed his greatly popular dance to this song. It was awesome!
