Worldbuilders let people who donated money to them vote on what I would read if they hit $600,000. They did reach that goal, and they voted. It was between Goodnight Moon, Fox in Socks, Where the Wild Things Are and Jabberwocky. Jabberwocky won. So I got up this morning and headed, sleep-bleary, out into the woods to record myself reciting it... You can donate to Worldbuilders at worldbuilders.org. And you should.

This is the true reason I became a writer; the sounds words make when skillfully arranged and spoken is literary music.

"Claws that bite and jaws that snatch." I'm sorry sir but I also memorized this poem and I was caught by that particular mixup :))

Thank you sir, for everything you do. You have made the world a more magical imaginative place, and hearing you recite this only adds to the wonder you have wrought.

Neil Gaiman recites the Jabberwocky Poem, so stop what you're doing and listen to the greatness of an icon.

You, sir, should be wearing a scarf! Lovely recitation. Thanks to you, I've now had the fortune of hearing both "Jabberwocky" and "Green Eggs and Ham" (and beautifully, too! I sat with childish winder as you did it) - thank you for making sure I get a proper literary upbringing, even if I am almost 20 (it's never too late!) Lots of love from (also very cold) Denmark

Thank you so much for your recitation! I love the Jabberwocky. A friend gave me a delightfully quirky, little, pink book when I went to Vietnam over 40 years ago. It used Jabberwocky. I loved it. Sadly, I lost it over the years. I cannot remember the name or author of the book. If anyone out there knows the book, I would be grateful for learning the title.

I thought to myself, I don't need to see this video, it's just a man reading a poem I've heard read many a time before. None of those people, however, were Neil Gaiman.

You realize that if you keep this up their going to make you read the London phone book next so it'll last longer. :-)

You mispronounced "gyre" (hard g) and "borogoves" (no second r), it's the "jaws that bite" and the "claws that catch" (not the "claws that bite" and the "jaws that snatch"), "the" Tumtum tree (not "a" Tumtum tree), stood a while "in" thought (not "he" thought), and "the" vorpal blade went snicker-snack (not "his" vorpal blade). My overly obsessive inner Carroll nerd is crying right now.
