Back in the 80s and living in Stratford us casuals use to wear G2 jumpers with the Lois jumbos with split legs draping over ya mock crocodile skin loafers, when googling I can find no reference for G2 jumpers,I’ve no idea about them only they had a shop in the west end,at that time I use to get a lot of my clothes from Romford,Essex, use to love my patchwork leather over the head jacket too which was purchased from there along with my sov rings etc
Great Vid, love the fact the Jay mentions getting cheap copies off the market. Who remebers "Ennesse" the badge was a letter E rip off of the Fila badge and the track top designs rip offs from oher top brands. If i remember right did Ennesse get so big they sponsored Everton? You will see the track tops on 80s scouse soap brookside. I had Ennesse coz i wasn't well off enough to buy the proper gear, in Nottingham we got them from a shopcalled Fashion floor in Broadmarsh. You also got your Le Shark from there which was a cheap rip off version of La Coste.
Top video. True legends in the scene. Lovely stuff. Interestingly though, no one mentions the Slazenger and Lonsdale holdall as well. HEAD was the most well known but there were loads including Adidas and Nike but I do get the reference that the head bag most likely carried back the most liberated gear. Lovely trainer collection. Would live to see a collector who collects Hummel and a few more obscure brands. Great vid.
Lacoste bring out decent tracktops now and then but there's a crappy plastic zip and a rubber Croc. I bought a jacket last year with the same zip and material Croc as the old trackie's but they seem to be allergic to knocking out a decent 80's tracktop. Can you have a word please, take care.
So did lads in liverpool/manchester ever wear the burberry & acquascutum stuff? Or was that 100% only a London/scotland casuals thing without any exceptions? always wondered..
Burberry in Newcastle as well as they had a factory shop about 10 miles north near the town of Blyth. Also Braemar which did knitwear that was a cross between Pringle and Lyle & Scott
Walker tracksuits.... No way! Walker was a big thing down my way in Cumbria. Funnily enough I was talking to a scouse lad at a Festival a few years back & he was the only person I've ever heard mention Walker. If Walker came back I would buy one for old times sake. Walker tracksuit, with either Samba, Kick, All Black (as they used to be called) or Adidas Serve. Anyone remember Adidas Serve?
Pink terrinda wow never seen a real one, I have a yellow 3x bigger than your man's so definitely not one you've seen repeat photos of ! Also dexter at 80s tennis has a yellow with bottoms !! And a one off chocolate brown terrinda ! 😮
Patrick or Gola were not worn in London. Would of got you beat up. Weird isn't it. Rossini. Memories. But the new Patrick stuff is really NOOICE as is the Gola
