I remember when Neil Hamburger had Buzz on his Poolside Chats webovision show, it was amazing and eventually Neil broke character when he thought the stream was broken. That was like 15 years ago and everyone looks the same.
The craziest thing about Neil's stories are that they are actually for real. Jumping a fence to visit Bon Scotts grave on a Mr. Bungle tour in Perth Australia happened.
The Melvins are amazing and the great thing is, they tour like mad, so it's easy to see them live. Cheap tickets, too. It's always better to see bands at a local dive bar or some other small venue. I saw Mr Bungle only once, back in 99 or 2000, in Nashville. They were great. Oh, and I also got to see Fantomas one time, and that was extra special. Only time I've seen them. It was in Athens GA
Very few people can stand in for Tim Heidecker, but Neil Hamburger is one of that very exclusive breed. What great guests and great conversations, hilarious yet also . . . uh . . . further . . . hilarity as well. Awesome show, great job!
So happy with my signed Neil Hamburger record! He even warned me it would loose value, as if I would ever sell it, such a sweetheart. Hope Neil will do more show here
We had great conversation with Dale , a good half hour , and later met Buzz for a 5-10 min , great guys , talkative friendly very approachable normal dudes ... Melvins Lite in Hamilton Canada , great show indeed
i'm from dover delaware and I didn't know the melvins played there. But it turns out they didn't. They played Dover, New Hampshire on that tour and in wilmington delaware.
Holy shiss. Mr Bungle?! That’s a nostalgia all the way back to my first phase of rebellion/rejection of the pop craps. Wow. Way to have these surprises!! ❤ And Mr Bungle for a Neil Hamburger host day? Neil, who hates the noises. Hilarious and genius.
Three Dog Night dog food shall be in the pantheon of Neil's dog food jokes. The only thing funnier would be Three Dogg Knight dog food with 3 Snoops and a Suge Knight on the can.
Neil, sir, can you please add a PNW date to your tour? I saw you in Olympia at Le Voyeur many years ago and you may remember that you "destroyed." Of course those were in your younger, wilder days (I don't need to tell you that the Zipper Schtick would never fly in 2021) but I'm sure your modern takes of earnest comedic sobriety would be extremely welcome in these troubled times.
This is one of my favorite recent episodes because it has the least amount of Producer Matt constantly making unfunny and condescending jokes.. We love you Neil!
I saw Todd Barry at Bottletree in Birmingham AL in around 2009, maybe... It was the first time I'd seen live stand up. I was already a fan so... I bothered Todd. I couldnt stop laughing. Anyway, my point, I got his autograph lol. The ticket was hipster af. It was a Heathcliffe, the cartoon cat, car air freshener. Smh lol. I asked Todd to sign it and he just looked at me like - whatever dude. Awesome night. I saw galifianakis there too. I kept running into him around bham that weekend. I infringed on his personal space hard in a restaurant and he had to rebuff me. He needlessly apologized when I saw him somewhere else. Real nice guy.
Dude, seriously and he's rude to callers. "Sorry but we have a much more important guest waiting". What a fuckin asshole. After the guy spent time to figure out your dumb algorithm.
HOLY SHIT somebody dropped a sample of “Tarred & Feathered” by Cardiacs at 47:58 . Especially great cuz the keyboardist in the music video for it looks just like Neil Hamburger (although Cardiacs came first) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NVjSycDJatc.html
Definitely! Those were some of the best shows at Tom Greens house. Those that don't know, Neil had King Buzzo on Poolside Chats as well. Tom Greens House was awesome back then, especially when Neil was around.
