100% agree with @Biggie Smalls. If this guy gets a job at a junior team, I’ll be surprised. Said he’d walk away in the October if it wasn’t working. Didn’t. Stayed until it was mathematically impossible, therefore got his bonus, paid off his debt. He should never be allowed back at Glasgow Celtic for what he did, or in this case didn’t.........
Absolute legend beat played in the middle like a lion ❤Neil even after the 10 he’s still a legend and that terms used loosely but he is a true Celtic great 🍀🍀
See imo... The board done the right thing for the 10 season, we kept our tried and tested players who should have been able to win the league again. If we had sold them and brought in unknowns and it never worked out then they would have been slaughtered worse imo. Loads of factors in that season went against us, wasn't meant to be troops...Look at us now 👍💚🍀
Massive Lennon fan but our current captain said TWICE publicly, we didn’t know what we were doing tactically. That should be talked about first and foremost. The players wanting to leave only came out after a big loss.
Will be remembered along with Lawwell for losing us 10 and having to be dragged out the front door, kicking and screaming. Awfully stubborn man (always has been) who unsurprisingly still refuses to take any accountability for the shambles that we had to endure that season. The 20/21 season will go down in history as one of our worst ever if not the worst. Huns, Ross county, ferencvaros, I won’t go on. It’s partly Lawwell’s fault too, should never have appointed him but I forgot ‘he knows the city’. Good man manager going by interviews from ex players but not a coach at all unlike big ange and the 🐀. This tends to mean Lenny’s effect as a manager coming in getting the players up for it again and playing Lennyball has a shelf life. Best of luck in the future to him, a great servant for the club but still can’t forgive him for the way he behaved in his last season.
This guy won the league 5x as manger 4 Scottish cups and a league cup. He finished a quadruple treble something that no other team has done and will never do again. He’s also took us into the knockout stages of the champions league and people still don’t like him because of 10 IAR. 10 IAR has never been done in Scotland because it’s so hard to do. The pressure to do it is unbelievable and remember covid hit so we had no fans which is like the 12 man sometimes, go and look at our home record it speaks for its self.
I’ve not listened to this yet but I’m gonna guess that he takes 0% of the blame that season and blames it on people who are not going to come out and defend themselves i.e. ex players or board members.
Lemny is a top man and a great Celtic man some eh the abuse he gets or got is a disgrace. Yes the second spell wasn't great and he was part of the reason but like he said there was plenty other factors that played a role in that season.
It was well known kennedy was conspiring against lenny at the time aswell threw him under the bus big time during that period the big man has got alot to answer for 😡 ☘️
Taking Celtic to Dubai during covid and forcing us to play reserve sides when players tested positive when they came back. Losing twice in one season to Ross County. Continually falling out with players. Terrible when dealing with the media. Just about the complete opposite of AP you would say.
As a Rangers fan I know he and the whole club totally imploded during the 2020/21 season and I loved the outcome but the way he's still treated by some sections of the Celtic support is a disgrace, literally the 3rd most decorated manager in the club's history, only Maley and Jock Stein have won more honours than him... however, not wearing the Covid excuses, it was the same for every team in the world... going to Dubai and taking an injured Jullien with them who got Covid and lost half the team due to being close-contacts, not sacking Bolingoli on the spot for going to Spain when International travel was banned, give me a break 🤣🤣 and don't take away from what Rangers were doing, not easy going a league campaign unbeaten and reaching the Europa League last-16, they lost only 2 games (plus a Scottish Cup penalty shoot-out) in all competitions that season, give them credit where it's due...
as nutella chocolate fan its celtic there is always excuse you molested 100s children yeah but rangers had a coach that done it rangers win the league was covid fail to qualify 17 years in champions league last 16 league was always the priority treble is on lose scottish cup semi the league was priority same old shit every time il take a double that team should be flying in europe but for team as big as celtic and they happy just beating ross county
Celtic fan and agree with you. 20/21 was an omni-shambles at Celtic Park, and Lenny was undoubtedly a significant part of the problem. But Celtic fans should, in the spirit of the start of your comment, forget it and define Lenny by his achievements at the club. And btw, Stein (slightly overrated imo) had a dodgy last few years in charge: failed to see or accept when McNeill's time was up (contributing hugely to losing 'the ten' in 1975) and responded inadequately to the (admittedly ultra-challenging) transfer of Dalglish, resulting in a final season in which Celtic finished fifth in the league and were eliminated from the Cup by Kilmarnock - yet most Celtic fans see any bad word against Stein as heresy.
I tried my hardest. I gave it a full 14 minutes. He sounded fine until then. He couldn't help but mention Celtic and Rangers in the same sentence. I give up now....
Sacked as hibs boss, blew Celtics biggest ever season then sacked within 9 months of his new job in a foreign country... yet miraculously none of it was his fault 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 tim revisionism at its finest. Needing crushed without mercy. Reappoint him when Ange leaves please
“It wis COVIDS fault” “it never counted, COVID season” but still claim a treble in the same season and continued after the last one. It probably wasn’t even Celtic fans that attacked him either, it’s always someone else. Thank you Neil for killing the 10, BOTH sets of fans will never forget you ❤
@@PLZSoccer I'd rather you didn't lead questions that suits his narrative. Lennons taken zero responsibility for the failure of the ten blamed everyone else including the fans. It was just two pals sitting having a chat rather as a real interview. Just putting him in the shop window for a job in Scotland. Any club would be mad too touch him with his bag full of nonsense.
HH lenny and shame on the fans and board that let him take the fall for the way they treated him for thing that where out of his powers to do anything about
The man’s arrogance and lack of accountability taken for that terrible season is astonishing. He has shit all over his own legacy and never a legend in my eyes
Well done Neil. 👏 good guy. Rangers fan here. Met you in Mcuils in Glasgow a few years back and shared a beer with you. Total respect for what you did at celtic and in Cyprus 🇨🇾 👏 well done. 👏 absolute decent guy. 👌 🫡
His last season was awful for so many reasons but it was a necessary reset and that doesn't overshadow what he did as a player and in his two spells as manager. When he comes back to Parkhead, in an official capacity or as a guest, he'll be welcomed with open arms. Always and forever a Celtic legend. GBNL🍀
@@Elnino2910 as I said his last season was a shocker but I don't think it was all down to him. As for his second spell, he came in and steadied the ship after the Rat crawled down to England to chase a pay day, wrapped up the league won the Scottish Cup, then delivered a treble of his own. I think he's the first Celt to do that as a manager and a player. He also had an incredible Europa League group stage and led us to a first ever victory in Italy against Lazio. Brought in Frimpong, got a tidy fee for him and that deal will also give us another few quid when he gets sold this summer from Leverkusen. I'm not saying he didn't make mistakes but he done a lot of good things on and off the pitch for us on his second spell.
Loved that! Neil will be a Celtic legend forever. I said it at the time and I will say it now..those players chucking tools will leave a far sourer taste for me than Lennon ever will. He said it perfectly.. “My record is as good as anybody’s at Celtic. 5 titles, 4 cups, champions league qualification and last 16, europa league runs, player sales” Hail Hail Neil 🍀
100% mate. The players got away without any blame hardly. I had a sick feeling in my stomach when Lenny was getting it tough off our fans in his last season. Forever a legend
Last 16 champions League. Got threw to the group stages of the Europa League. Qualified top. Your a legend. Celtic fans are bitter because of the 10. Forget that. Your a legend. Top man
As much as Lennon deserves respect for what he's done at celtic he's not entitled to be kept on due to what he accomplished in the past. Everyone was aware there was a massive overhaul required in the summer. I dont doubt players like Abada and Juarnovic had been scouted while lennon was still at the club but theres no way we would have got players like Kyogo, Maeda and Hatate without Postecoglu and also play a style of football that well exceeds anything Lennon or even Rodgers could provide. Time has been a healer for my opinion of Neil Lennon but the right decision was made and Celtic have been much better off because of it.
Losing the 10 was a sore one but not comparable to all the joy and success you helped bring to my club as a player and a manager. God bless Neil Lennon, the Lurgan Lion!
Well said , remember FOOTBALL WITHOUT FANS DOES NOT COUNT ! that was for a share printing and bitcoin swindle 😂TEN IN A ROW WI FANS AND THE DOUBLE FOR BIG ANGE 💚💛
I'm glad you like him because he's returning to manage celtic at the end of the season when Ange leaves. It's no coincidence that lennon has suddenly started appearing in interviews. They're breaking it to you gently 🤣
Even though the season he managed last didn’t go well, we weren’t the same team in the covid season, most people would agree that, he was an amazing player and leader at Celtic and to think he masterminded that win against Barca in Europe, that moment will live forever for me, still have massive respect for Lenny 😁🍀💚
God Bless you Neil what you had to endure here was bigotry on stilts but your expected just to get on with it , could you imagine the support you would have had if it was racist behaviour instead of anti Catholic bigotry 🇮🇪☘️
I bear Lenny no ill will, still not really hearing him take much responsibility but the covid season but will let it fly. We’ll win 10IAR in 8 years anyway 😂
I know you'll read this Neil. Followed the hoops for 35 years and you sir are a Celtic Legend. Manager and player. 10 in the row was not to be . You can't blame one thing but a culmination off factors including covid not to mention really bad luck. You will always be in the hearts of the Celtic support. Your one of us. No one can ever say you never cared. Hope to see you at Paradise soon. You will be saluted. ☘
wait??? this is the same "hero" Neil Lennon yes?? the same one the "best fans in world" hounded out, threw stuff at car, terrorized him and his family?? ONE OF US lool
@@g-stergaming4502 A small minority does not carry voice for the the full support. Short memory that you have , I remember Ally mccoist was annihilated by your supporters. Pipe down son
@@layersb160 McCoist annihilated by my supporters??? I am sorry to say I cant remember that Sir, us Arbroath fans dont care about him to be honest but I guess you lot are well known for changing history to suit the narrative eh lool
Yeah blame covid and no fans. Celtic aren't back to normal because fans are back. They have had a complete over haul. Ange has done a fantastic job and no one can take that away from him. Also I am a rangers fan and there was many reasons why celtic never got 10 and you was part of the reason. You can't be looking at the other countries to see who won and who never won. You said Liverpool won by 30 points the season before covid. Well man City won it the 2 seasons before and after Liverpool. Lame excuse Neil.
Zero accountability yet again. The way he conducted himself was nothing short of disgraceful. Also, he turned on the fans, not the other way around. No style of play, no professionalism, no shame.
I'm a Celtic fan and agree with you. I saw a brilliant Hibs performance under Lennon in November 2016, playing an excellent passing game and winning 4-0.
Loved you as a player Neil…and you done a great job as manager (twice) However…when things went sour…you could have stood aside and let somebody else take the reigns for the run-in….so ….Major Blunder….especially in the year of the “10” ….🤔
You are an absolute legend. The one and only. What. Player what a legend. Top man. Did not deserve to be treated the way you were. Celtic fans are a disgrace for how the treatment of you 💚💚💚💚💚
As a Celtic fan I’ve been put right off him. Should’ve never been given the job second time round. Totally disrespectful towards the supporters some of the nonsense that’s coming out his mouth, the supporters cannot relate to him he’ll never win the support back. Celtic is nothing without the supporters, Neil made millions from the club, spent fortunes in absolute dross during the covid season, spunked big fees on total crap.
Your attitude is typical of negative people A how did he manage a victory over Barcelona , and B if he made 10 we wouldn’t be sitting with Ange tearing Sevco apart , so be positive Neil’s only fail was no crowds season so blame governments for shamefully keeping us away from grounds
Neil Lennon as a player and manager helped Celtic win 10 league titles, 8 Scottish cups and 3 league cups. He still holds the Scottish record for champions League points in a season and is the only Celtic manager to win a European group. A poor last 6 months in charge cannot remove his many acheivements for Celtic.
Just take a little responsibility Neil for Christ sake didn’t have any wingers bar an injured Forrest and miley Johnstone with zero winger back up ……why wasn’t anyone signed gotta be on you
Nothing against Lenny, a Celtic legend he is and always will be. But I thought it was step back bringing him back. And for all the variables and non football problems he speaks of, slating the players after the Ferencavros game was a big mistake and got the players offside very early in the season. The fact he started the same team a few days later at Motherwell made his comments even more baffling. If players were pissed off because they were told they would be allowed to leave, slating them after a bad performance certainly wasn't the way to get them up for it. More than a few of them were empty jerseys after that and Lenny needs to take a decent portion of the blame. It set the tone for the season that was to come.
@@krismurray9345 half that crop didn’t really care about the 10 to be frank. Add to the Empty stadiums. Things would never have materialized If fans were in the seats demanding a reaction
The players absolutely have to take some of the blame as well. I'm just making the point that Lenny can't just blame the pandemic, he needs to accept some blame also along with the players and the board.
@@oldpainless316well Lenny said it there himself that there was a core who wanted away that summer and that didn't happen due to various reasons around COVID and clubs not willing to spend money, I'm not being an apologist for Lenny but that's a massive handicap when your main players don't 2ant to be there, Édouard, Christie, Ajer etc
you have to respect his career top player.. brought us fantastic nights as a manager . and you have to give him credit rodgers done a 🌙 light left us in experience guy in JK as a manager. and you have to be honest lenny always takes celtic call even in a bad situations and you have to to thank for me that❤
the LEGEND that is Lenny !!! shocking what that man has had to endure because of "football" yet his eyes well up at the memory of loosing "A" game... kudos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lenny knows his football, he's brilliant as a pundit, great knowledge and very sharp, but it's obvious he struggles with the modern game and players. Completely agree with him on O'Neill's team Vs Ange, no contest.
He was ASKED to come bk after BR walked out, he finished the league off and won the Scottish cup, he won the treble the following season and yet still ppl out there think the board should have got rid of him and brought in someone different, just simply coz it was 10 in a row🤷♂️, fk them all Lenny HH👍🏻
True regards Larsson he was a top scorer and scored all kinds of goals and for a guy not so tall either larsson he was very good in the air and had that good leap to get up and can head a ball .Kyogo although good he wont ever be as good as Henrik Larsson and for me Jota is the best Celtic player in todays celtic side . Todays side speaking both Hart and Starfelt are the weak links whom need changed for next season for better or else win Spl again but Europe best to forget . Rest team seems fine . Team back in Seville final v Porto Weak links were Douglas in goals and Balde .Semi final Prediction 3/1 Celtic . As for would this todays Celtic team get better martin O'Neills team at their best . Id say No as felt although wasnt a Rab Douglas fan in goal or Balde < though big tall and strong as an ox i like in a team at the back and the Martin Oneill yrs he always had big tall defenders with strength who could also play ..midfield i feel with Alan Thompson with a good shot on him was class as was top midfield footballer Petrov so for me again Edges it for me that midfield over todays just . Striker postitions with Henke and Sutton wins it for me also in them yrs over this team today ..I feel team from Oneill days would win as still stronger defence midfield and attack And im thinking in defence as them guys were bigger and stronger and could head a ball This side today at back are weaker smaller and not near as good with high balls in the air at the back or up front ..Billy McNeill for me further back was the best Celtic captain ever and he could head a ball better than any other player be it in defence or up front from corners etc top class header of a ball ..
Its not even a debate, any celtic fan that watched the early 2000 team knows its far superior. The league was also a better standard back then and if truth be told the rangers team was probably better than the current celtic team also.
I'm not being funny but in his second spell it was some of the worst football I've ever seen. He relied heavily on the front three just playing well and Fraser Forster pulling off worldies. It's absolutely night and day when you watch Ange's team to see how well coached and have a clear vision of how they want to play. He was completely out his depth to manage Celtic in a 10 in a row season. He had just been sacked from Hibs. He also chucked the players under the bus with the first opportunity he got with the Ferencavors game and the writing was on the wall from there. That's where the anger comes from the fans instead of blaming entitled fans maybe he should take some accountability instead of blaming factors that aren't under his control if he wants to be accepted again by the Celtic support.
Those images of Lennie parked on the bench with his feet up snarling and spitting at Mickey Johnson coming off injured, did not sit well with me. Can you envisage Ange doind that ?
Cry me a river. Take some responsibility put your own ego before the club knew you weren't up to the task but didn't step back. Fed up with the woe is me act Neil.
Covid was a leveller for all teams round the globe, Liverpool the obvious example - and close comparison - teams that thrive on the togetherness of fans clubs and players Circumstance and root cause of situations is ignored by the media and social media world we live in now Great show Peter and well done Neil you are a club legend
