There has to be a way to fund government, but the whole system seems to be broken. So, agreed, we need to reconsider. I have focused on these huge trials where indigent defendants are granted unfettered defenses that cost millions of dollars (i.e. Delphi, Idaho) and take years before trial. Justice system, prison system, police, secret service, etc.

My retirement plan; physical silver and gold for aquiring materials. Land ownership in a country with Castle law. Grow most of my own food. Trade with neighbours for food, meat. My wife is a practical nurse. I have a sawmill and lots of tools. Im an industrial mechanic. I can repair, fabricate almost anything that will help provide food and shelter.

I don't row; when I go in the bank, it's either to correct what I think is a bank error (to be honest, it's usually mine; errors on the part of the bank I have been able to address too, and they happen about every month or two) or to withdraw cash, which I withdraw in coin. They ask why I want it, every time, so I know that it is required on some form. I simply say that I have brain damage, so if I use cards, I go overdrawn. If I use folding money, I at least know when I am running out; but something about coin makes me say, "Do I really need this?" And that makes sticking to a budget a lot easier. They know I am a disabled veteran, so that answer is something that fits in their preconceptions -- but I actually learned to do that from a friend who's wife *cannot* be trusted with cards or a checkbook!

Question: Can we not just save our cash at home (empty bank after auto payments) and when shtf we all agree to use this cash at it's current value (so not after it's devalued by govt). Sure beats printing our own local currency for bartering, and easier to hide and carry than gold and silver. Ps, where I live there is nowhere locally to buy physical gold or silver. Maybe a 4 hr drive to the capitol but risky to walk out of that shop and drive 4 hours with my hoard!😂

An alternative is buying stones, either cut stones (gem or cabochon), available on eBay, or rough stones / slabs (again, eBay), and some jewelry-making and stone-cutting & polishing equipment. Just do your learning with rocks you find walking around.

Once again the hot countries have it best. free or cheap energy, plentiful sunlight, here we could use cheap oil (It should be cheap) to grow veg under glass, which works really well. For 10 years I’ve been buying physical gold here in Thailand on the advice of a very bright Thai businessman. When we need some cash we just sell a bit at that days price. Lost nothing during lockdown, in fact made a lot over the last few years. Gold shops everywhere here and Thais know when to buy and sell. Something magical about looking at a bar of gold.

For governments, it counts as a national asset if it is still in the ground. See Uganda, when it was recently invaded and had to sign over its mines AND NATURAL DEPOSITS of gold when it forfeited on its loans.

Ukraine defaulted on its debt .. now the UK citizens will pick up the tab because the BoE gave the loan to Ukraine. This Ukraine default places a bill of £2,000 on the head of every man, woman and child in the UK. Should futher defaults occur (and they most definitely will)..this place £10,000 on every head. I can remember my great-grandfathers speaking of the Great Depression and the Federal government going house to house confiscating gold and silver. The only gold they would (maybe, but not if you got mouthy) leave you with was your wedding bands. Courts ruled married couples could keep those, but only one set. Back then, the silver tea service was a thing many families had, and some portions of family wealth but thought of as patrimony or matrimony or dowry would be in family heirlooms such as silver serving platters or silverware, dining flatware; and when the government confiscated the patrimony and matrimony and dowry of the nation, those concepts mostly went away.

Yes, this is a new account, but I plan on deleting it every now and then. If nothing else, I won't leave an easy long history for Big Brother to hear my "anti establishment" views. I think the psychological ‘Run on the £’ has already begun. I walked out of a job recently after I realised no matter how hard I worked, I simply couldn’t afford to rent my own home, never mind own one. So for me, money is already close to functionally worthless, or at least it’s not worth busting a gut for. The privately owned central banks issue a nations money. All central banks are controlled by the Bank of International Settlements, which itself is privately owned by ancient bloodline families. They put our nations into debt by also charging usury (interest) on the money they issue. So this debt is repayable to them. When a country defaults on the loan the bankers will take the resources such as land, minerals, oil, gas etc from said country. They may also introduce austerity measures (eg: Greece) and install their own technocrats to govern.

This was a fantastic interview Neil. Please get Nick Ward back again as soon as possible! I was already aware of the virtues of gold and silver, I've been looking into the subject for a couple of years now. If only you had done this interview sooner, it would have saved me months of time. If everything does go tits up, just remember a small amount of gold will be worth a lot of money, you will need silver in order to buy small value items. Maybe even copper but don't just save your 1p and 2p coins, they aren't real either, they are only copper plated steel.

How did you do this? I have been begging my husband to empty out our annuity and savings account and buy physical gold and possibly silver with it. It's not happening. Not right now anyway. I have been storing up on food and personal items like clothing and products, tools and seeds for example BUT if I were single I would have gold only. The streets they’re on are falling apart, nothing gets renewed unless it’s something no one asked for, such as 3 lots of fibre cabling shoved under the pavement.

Because nearly all wealth of the UK is stored in them. the gov pays people to sit on those houses and look after them. If they stop paying, everything will start crumbling. Debt won't be paid, prices will go down, the UK will face a total ruin. Do not be mistaken. The UK needs immigrants to keep houses occupied and council tax paid. Everything else is secondary to it. Neil an intersting subject is based on a book called, "The Great Taking" (pdf download) by a Mr Webb. It's based on pan national laws passed that enables your pensions and securities to be taken by 'prefered creditors' in the event of a financial crash. I've signed up for your Patrion btw.
