Neil, at least to me, always seems to be a bit stand-offish. But I see an entirely different side of him here. Heartwarming and genuine in a regular-guy sort of way.
@@lastnamefirst4035 Ever hear him talk about someone who interviews dissenting medical experts? We were all born with good souls, some get trampled and other are misguided and fail to understand what justice actually looks like. Others stay open and curious.
He recorded the album trans it's a very experimental album because he wanted to try and capture the way he felt his son heard music and saw the world. He used an effect to make his voice sound like a transformer. Closest thing you'll ever hear to Techno music from him. Its not very good or pleasurable to listen to unless you know why he wrote it or what he was trying to achieve.
I saw Neil with his son in '84, it was the day after his concert, and there they were just Neil and his boy casually touring our city. Even as a young teen, I was struck by the devotion he showed for his child.
Florida Bearded Fisherman oh plz stfu moron we got a republican man child for president that cheated multiple times on his wives and has a whore for his wife and can barely speak in a staight sentence he’s the perfect example of a good republican lmao 😂
Stephen Fisher well you must be one of those lazy twats watching you tube cause you took the time to comment on this post #lookyourselfinthemirror#idiot
Probably the only performer I would pay money to see with no backing band. Singing and playing his harmonica at his piano or with his guitar is all you need and more.
About the same for me! A tad younger than you, but Live Rust was the album I heard in my teens and I think I may just have to spin that LP this weekend!
Wow Neil, just now seeing this video. Your son is so lucky to have you as a father. The video shows the compassion you and your son have with each other. Very moving.
What a wonderful loving dad, not only is he mega talented he is kind, caring, and an extremely intelligent man. I have loved his music since the 70's, so happy he shared a little piece of his life with us.
@@lastnamefirst4035 i did all my life ....musically has been tremendous.....but you referring to his divorce? I am big fan but singing for Bernie ..eh ...no
@@marcg1228 i was referring to his son Zeke who also has cp. Zekes mom was a long time gf of neils. Neil has never financially supported Zeke or any other means. I read neils bio and he never said why. Neil has been a mega millionaire since his 20's so idk. As far as his divorce from pegi its none of my biz. Neil has been a forever democrat and hates trump. Now that bernie is gone u can bet he will be supporting biden as will I
what a wonderful man and a wonderful father. Sales mean nothing, record revenue means nothing, hits mean nothing, but the love between a father and his son means everything. Well done my friend...
I’ve always been a Neil Young fan, since the 70’s. I’ve never known about his private, family life and this inspires so much more respect for the man. Well done Neil Young, God bless you and your family.
When I was 13 (1970) I played "Down by the River" over and over to learn how to play it on the guitar.I wore out the grooves and had to by a new LP (Everyone knows this is Nowhere) :-)
Never knew he had children... wonderful father by looks of things... had a cousin who had cerebral palsy... Antoinette... her brother was always great with her - explaining things to her and others who weren't knowledgeable about it... takes a real man to do this... more of a fan now than was before - always liked him - great talent...
@Denny Smith All of Neil's children are disabled, even though he's had children by two different women who were healthy and led clean, drug-free lives. Both of Neil's sons have cerebral palsy, which I find intriguing since each son had a different mother. The cause of Cerebral Palsy is a brain injury or brain malformation that occurs while the brain is developing. This injury happens before, during, or after birth. As I recall, all of Neil's children were home-birthed, and I've always suspected that there was some level of mishandling-possibly during the birth process-that kept on happening in every birth. In addition to both his sons having Cerebral Palsy, Neil's daughter-like her father-has epilepsy. Fortunately, Neil's son by actress Carrie Snodgress isn't as severely disabled as the son he had by Pegi Young, and his daughter's epilepsy is well controlled with medication. It takes a REAL man to stay with his wonderful, devoted wife and child, rather than abandon them to chase after another woman. This is especially true if the wife in question has terminal cancer and the child is severely disabled. Then again, what can you expect from a man who fathered-then abandoned-his first child by another woman (Carrie Snodgress), forcing that woman to have to take Neil to court in order to obtain any child support whatsoever from him. Yeah, Neil Young is a 'wonderful' father alright, lol.
My daughter has severe CP, like Ben does! This blows my mind... I often feel like we are so isolated and alone, but seeing someone like Neil Young and his wife are facing the same challenges, I feel some connection.💜
How wonderful. Wonderful for that boy to have a father who does care, and can care so much for him. And how wonderful to see who Neil Young really is.....not an act....it's all real.
One my favorite songs, only love can break your heart. I would carry a transistor radio in my front pocket while I delivered news paper in 70 or 71 and that song along with the song Woodstock by csny could be head over my front pocket. One of the greatest gifts that came out of Canada, mr. King of grunge NEIL Young..
Me too! I didn't think I could love him anymore than I already did, but I was wrong, he's a beautiful old soul. I had a very friendly pet turkey for about 8 years who, for some strange reason, loved the song "Powderfinger" and would come running from wherever he was when he heard it. I had a friend visiting once and I was telling her about "Mr. Chong's" love of Neil, but she wasn't familiar with the song, so I told her, "It's the one that starts off with (singing loudly), 'Look out, Mama there's a white boat coming up the river'..." Here came that big goofy bird running towards us, gobbling happily! We laughed so hard we peed ourselves! Sure wish I had video of that to share with Neil (the bird, not two old ladies laughing 'til they peed, nobody wants to see that, lol). He has fans of all species!
Well there is another layer of love and respect I have for Mr. Young, the greatest combination Singer/Songwriter/Electric and Acoustic Guitar player who ever lived...Nice video...
Neil Young is an awesome Artist and an awesome Dad. Glad he stands by people with Disabilities and does The Bridge School Charity stuff. I never knew he was on Nickelodeon News. Nice Train Set he has. RIP Pegi ;( This Man was and still is a Heart of Gold.
I have no words to express my appreciation for Neil. He uses his prodigious intelligence to connect with his son in such a loving way. It's genius and compassion combined. Kudos Neil!
Awww that is so adorable to see son and dad together. That reminds of my son when he was a child he always played with his train set with his dad. Neil Young you're a wonderful loving father may God bless you always. Love you Neil you're number one on my list. Rock on❤❤❤✌🎸
Always liked Neil Young! And I've always loved the romance of Trains! But his love of his family for me, this is obviously a true & new reason, indeed! They define "The heart loves who the heart loves" brilliantly! Glad Neil & crew are lovin their blessed life so well! Bless'em all for a very, very long time! Peace!!
God bless you Neil, you are a great family man. And your music is something from the heart and has a special part in my heart, you did it your way and that is what we all must do. Only one N. Young, because he copied no one. I am a musician too, and I do it my way. We all must. God bless everyone. Love
I have always enjoyed Neil's music and lyrics ...I have just discovered why he and his family are blessed . Love... " If you give love it comes right back to you "
That few seconds of Neil Young and Crazy Horse playing Cinnamon Girl is one of the best music videos I've ever seen. Neil Young Cinnamon Girl 1991 it really captures the Neil Young Crazy Horse live experience
i first caught them in 1972 when a 20 minute of cowgirl in the sand blew me out of my theater seat...saw four times more...caught neil with the promise of the real two years ago in italy...just wasn't the same...the horse was his band...
@@michaeldonovan4793 my first Crazy Horse Show story is a classic. In 78 my brother showed up at my apartment and said we're going to see Neil Young. I was still really into the dead and getting into some of the British stuff that was coming over at that time and I was like forget it dude. I don't want to go see some boring lalalalala bulshit. LOL he actually physically grabbed me by the arm and said come on we're going. That was for rust never sleeps and I was astonished amazed whatever. I remember after the show ended sitting in my seat looking around at all the empty seats. I was the last one in the stadium I just did not want to leave. I saw Neil solo and with some other backing bands a few times over the next 35 years but I never missed a Neil Young and Crazy Horse Show when they came within 200 miles of Chicago. The tour that the clip is from where he is playing Cinnamon Girl is from the 1991 tour. It was the best of the 15 or 20 times I saw those guys
I think you are wonderful Mr. Young. One of the few people who can make me smile and cry at the same time while I’m laughing with joy and wondering at this beautiful life that we live.
@@bubbathebulldog3809, did you not read that right! The world would be worse off when he exits. That means the world will lose a great man when he leaves it.
Neil I've always been a great big fan of yours and your music . I've always known that you were a special person but now I I know that you have a heart more precious than gold.
Neil young is a true inspiration to us all...his music gives us a passion and a reason to reach for the stars but he also has another side...hes a family man...a husband...a dad and once again he is an inspiration to us all...myself I learned guitar with Neil's music and I would like to think that I have learned ALOT about life from him...god bless Neil STAY FREE N HAPPY
A family man? A husband? He divorced Pegi to move in w daryl hannah, has another child w cerebral palsy who he has never provided for. Perhaps you should do some simple reasearch b4 idolizing the guy
Saw Neil in Switzerland some years ago, he's unbelievable, his days seem to have more than 24 hours. And now this with his son...just love...wow, how great he is.
James Wilkerson ,,wow James Wilkerson, you summed up my thoughts and feelings about Neil and Peggy’s break up perfectly. I have loved Neil and his music for 50 years, even named my son Neil, and we use to call him young Neil.I was not happy when I heard of the whole break up and Peggy’s cancer, and her passing. I was actually rather ticked off at Neil, but then I thought I am no one to judge others for what they do, as I am far from perfect myself. And yes we never know what other peoples life and relationships are really like. I love old Neil, and his music so, so much. He has done so much to help his children, he has set up a charter school for his son and others as well. I’d have to say he gives back to help others less fortunate in many ways, and his music,,,I listen to a lot of his older stuff, with fond heart felt, memories, Its like a Journey thru my past. I ll always,,,,💙Love Neil Young!!!! Keep on rocking,,,,In The Free World!
well put. It seems like he's been singing about my life since the every one knows this is nowhere. And almost cut my hair said my feelings better than I could. I'm 62 and and and still feel the same and it's gettin kinda long.
Even if you know in advance about Neil's family and his children, and their issues ... man, this is so heartwarming and so beautiful. Of course he and Pegi would do anything for them, but yet... It puts a big lump in your throat ..
Thank you to who post this vídeo. Thank you Neil for let us see this wonderful child and for let us share such precious moment of your life. PORTUGAL LOVES YOU NEIL.
Proud of you Neil I'm a father of a severely autistic son who is my world I had alot of respect for you but after hearing and seeing this part of your life I have even more respect for you.
