KD is one of a kind! When I need to just...feel something, and all seems lost...I just blast her music as loud as my stereo can go!Thank God I live in the country...doors opened wide, windows opened, and tall glass of sweet tea...music blaring!

I had the privilege of seeing kd sing in a cowboy bar in Calgaty, Alberta, in about 1982. I remember saying to a friend, "This girl is going places", but I had no idea how far.

Her music takes me back to being a kid. Would listen to K.D. Lang going on family trips. The weather would always be rainy, dreary, stormy, moody and cold; and then a break through of sunlight through the clouds on a green field occasionally. This was back in the early 2000s; back when the world felt simple. Takes me back, and still gives me that feeling. I'm 20 now and still love her music. It also takes me back to a time before my grandparents weren't dead, especially going on picnics with one of my grandmothers, going on adventures when it's winter. Beautiful music.

The only Neil Young cover that compares to this one is Bob Mould's 1990 tour where he did Cinnamon Girl. Both are absolutely outstanding. Thank you Canada! Thank you, kd!

Not many songs explore this territory ... NY gave voice to this need we all share - for 'Heimat' yes, but also for allowing ourselves to _admit_ that we're needy, yearning, vulnerable. Here k.d. lang both shows that she understands and helps us to follow her there. This is what music is for (part 437)!

K.D. Lang has one of the truly great voices of the age. This song truly showcases it. K.D.'s album, "Hymns of the 49th Parallel," which features "Helpless" is a masterpiece.

I just heard k.d. sing this on the radio and I got chills and felt very moved. She is one of Canada's greatest singers! What a beautiful voice! The arrangement and song are wonderful too, of course however, k.d.'s voice is divine!

@@kiddozoo 6 years ago I was in the heart unit of the local hospital recovering from a Triple By-pass heart operation with 4 stoppages, so I'm not really sure what I was writing then, I was in the unit for 34 days before I got home again.
