Neil Young + Promise of the Real performs "Love and Only Love" at Farm Aid's 30th anniversary concert at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island in downtown Chicago, Illinois, on September 19.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Neil Young...great musician,songwriter,arranger and always helping a good cause such as help for healing our hurting planet and farmers who have been losing their farms due to corporate greed,and helping to stop the insanity of soaking orchards & fields of food crops with toxic cancer causing chemicals which contaminate and destroy soils, wildlife and run off into the streams and rivers polluting,killing life there.. there are much better,natural ways to grow and protect food crops than to spray poisons onto our earth,plants and wildlife...thank you,neil..dont stop

last saturday in Madrid.... they just performed like truly Gods... the whole gig was like breathing and breathing following hypnotic tempos... like rocking the audience as babies to calm them or to excite it... just on their hands... energy and white magic

Jeremy Briggs It was 1974 (sorry, I miscalculated the date) at the Capital Centre just outside DC in Largo, Maryland. I wasn't old enough to drive, so my friend's sister took us. Neil was playing with Crosby, Stills, and Nash that night.

Luke is a great guitar player, he adapts to Neil's raw playing but adds a smooth sound without being to flashy.. Just enough off both

I could hear it on the album. I listened with headphones and I could hear Luke has listened to Neil very carefully but has his own sound too. One of the most beautiful features of the album is the sound of that young man in your left ear and the Elder Statesman in your right, talking back and forth with their guitars.

+Stage B The guys in Crazy Horse are all about feel playing, not chops. They've been with Neil since the beginning (Frank since '75) and I'd rather have them with Neil than any other backing band. They bring along all that soul that's evolved over the years. The real deal!

Well obviously. But POTR are both. Immersed in the muse and have technical prowess. Neil has even commented on this fact in an interview. He said it's the best backing band he has ever worked with.
