The future of rock music is in the safe hands of these young ladies. What a way to debut your group with this amazing song. If there is an award for Best Newcomer Band/ Breaktrough Band of the year, Neki will be among the top.

Totally agree with your enthusiasm! This song hits me like “Thrill” did years ago. They may be the Next Big Thing.

The bassist Kanade made it to the latter rounds of the auditions for Lovebites, when she was still only 15 and she's one of the players featured in both the full documentary and the shorter digest version posted to YT. She'd been popping up on my social feeds for the last year or since then. She's also known to be a big fan of Koga from Gachapin, which shows in her playing style. I'm very curious about them and interested to see what they do next, though I also note they're another Japanese band that find it necessary to use duct-tape on their Les Paul pickup selector switch.

This debut really impressed me, certainly some Band-Maid sounding influence. (They have done some Band-Maid covers.) Looking forward to their next few songs. And they all seem so young. 👴

Probably the band most directly descended from Band Maid today. In fact, they have made several covers. They sound really good and I hope they have a bright future.

Did they write the song themselves? In my opinion, it is well written. I especially like the bassist and the sound of the singers voice as well. I have to say though, that the production is hiding her voice a bit, as she does actually need some improvement (based on a short video I seen), but I don’t really care that much. Bassist grabs my attention more than the guitars here. If their next song is as good as this, I will likely become a fan. Currently my favorite bands are Lovebites, Hanabie, Gacharic Spin, but NEK! could become my next one. Really does depend on the next song though.

Okay, I'm a fan. What won me over is the melody of the verse.

The song was pretty good, the vocalist reminder me of a more rocky version of Suu even if I am not a SaiSai fan.

Why do so many Japanese guitarists hate the pickup selector switch, especially on Les Pauls? 🤣 Good fun song! Curious how they progress.
