I like to refer to the Sadies as our generation's The Band. Prodigious musical ninjas...on the dance card of the absolute finest musicians of our time.
At the moment I can't really think of any pleasure greater than seeing Neko onstage with the Sadies, especially when such a fantastic tune as this is on tap.
This was the first time I saw Neko perform live. Love, love love her music! It was a special thrill to see her sing live for the first time as I had difficulty believing somebody could sing like she does. And it’s real ❤️🔥
Incredible! The album version is great, but this rendition here manages to outshine it with its raw, unpolished power. It's one of those rare moments when all the stars line up in perfect harmony.
I've seen her live a few times and she is great. I have to say though that her studio work is where it's at. Her albums are masterpieces. Especially Black Listed, Fox Confessor and Middle Cyclone. All must have's.
Good lord...some of the most talented musicians in the world. That's the first time I personally recall seeing Dallas Good not playing a Telecaster (electric wise that is).
This looked like it was the biggest day of her life. Giving a performance almost too perfect. A lot must have been on the line this night, or so Ms. Case thought. You can see her looking at her co-musicians upon, or right after they performed a semi solo. I loved it.
Seriously though, Neko case probably has perfect pitch. She can start off singing before the rest of the instruments join in and she'll nail the pitch perfectly.
Heard this song on the radio this morning and right away I was reminded of The Sadies (spent a good portion of my morning watching their vids) and then I see this!
Saw Neko with the Sadies at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C. in 2004 or 05. They played this, with Neko introducing it as a song she was still working on. Far as I can remember it sounded just like what you hear here, so she didn't tweak it much.
