@@Cjusto1 When I was a kid there was an old abandoned Rockefeller mansion out in the woods. We used to go hang out in it, there was a bunch of graffiti everywhere and the floor had leaves and stuff all over it but the house was intact, there was still a huge chandelier on the ceiling.
Nellys old house made me feel so sad and old…imagining it full of people partying it up in the early 2000s! It’s a be gone era now just like my high school days….😢 also when you said I’m sure you’ve heard your Mom singing his songs while washing dishes…yeah that made me feel a lot older. 😂 I’m 38. 😊
If anyone has seen Nelly's reality show he explains why he left the mansion. The house was renovated and his sister as the one who designed it This is the reason he left the mansion. He was very close to his sister
@jacksonogwindi1653 But they don't do well in snow country. All the heat rises into those huge ceilings where no one can use it. So you have to turn the heat up even more to keep it warm enough where you spend all your time.
Homes this size with proper insulation have amazing heat/cooling efficiency, a lot of 10000 sqft homes I worked on had heating and cooling builds of $50-$120 (midwest). Now this home probably doesn't have the R value considering how poorly made it seems, based on the echo from the rooms, I'm guessing only exterior walls are insulated and probably r26 blow in insulation in whatever attic space this home has.
I’m “that mom” singing Nelly songs around the house and in the car!🤪 I’m actually taking my 16 yr old daughter to see Nelly live in April! Both of us CANNOT WAIT! My oldest daughter is 23 and I also have a son that’s 21…they all prefer late 90s-early 2000s music🥰
I noticed that the new generation still will listen to "our" millenial hip hop music. However, we would never listen to our parents' music from the 70s or 80s unless it was at a cookout.
Not that it’s a bad thing, but this place just SCREAMS “2000’s McMansion.” Lol. I always loved the 2000’s mansions. Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson’s was a favorite of mine from their “Newlyweds” TV show back then.
Great house. I love that you don’t overdo it and spend unnecessary time in each room like others do. Sometimes I get so aggravated that others will stay in a bathroom or bedroom going through closets and I’m like “we get it, it’s a bathroom just move on.” 😂 That movie theater ruled!
This was awesome to see! Thank you, BB! I am from South Carolina! Love your channel. I had a lot of favorites watching... but narrowing it down to 3. First, the wooden beams on the ceilings and the columns. This place was built to last. Next, the squared glass throughout with the glass bar being my favorite. Last, the balcony views of the entrance and living space. Breathtaking! The natural lighting made it feel so fresh and open. Loved the WHITE. So sorry to hear his sister passed. He probably didn't have the heart to complete it since he was doing it for her. Not sure what "church" would buy this and why, but a "church" that spends that kind of money on tangible things and not eternal is more than likely not a "church" of Jesus Christ. His last commission to us was to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all mankind...to take care of the widows and orphans. Independent Baptist Pastor's daughter here! 🙋♀️ Not saying anyone outside my denomination is not real. Maybe this mansion will be used as an orphanage or a place for apartments of widows. BB, I hope your girlfriend knows how special it is that you were so excited to have her with you while working! Tell her that the peak we got at her... she's beautiful! So glad to see you happy! God bless!
Love Nelly, even tho I'm 67 yrs old. I got to see him in concert, in Nashville, a few years ago. My daughter surprised me for my birthday. 😂 Thank you for showing us this home. Take care❤
Watching from the UK, its tragic this house isnt being enjoyed properly by someone deserving. Such a cool place, 1st time watching this channel wont be my last. Thank you
Bankz that's almost the design of the bathrooms that I originally designed my bathrooms in my dream house with the bathtubs & Glass blocks over it! But I had the glass blocks over my kitchen sinks & over cubards too. To lighten up the rooms too! Love this place thanks for sharing it with us! Love you buddy! ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤ Again from Berwick, Pennsylvania!
I’m guessing that first room was perfect for displaying all of his awards and the big mirror room maybe was a rehearsal space? Good for choreography etc.
Awesome, Big Banks!! I am in Jonesboro, AR so I am only a few hours away from St. Louis Missouri. I think it was smaller inside than it looked on the outside, but very interesting. I was kind of surprised that it was all so white, and not much color other than the room with the Murial. Good to see your lady friend is with you, hope she enjoyed the explore and tell her we love her too. Good explore. I guess my favorite room would have been the huge master bedroom and that one awesome bathroom.
That last ‘movie theatre’ was not just a movie theatre. It’s a pole and a few pieces of comfortable furniture away from being a strip club. Anybody remember that line from hot in here: stop pacing, time wasting, I got a friend with a pole in a basement. I’m just kidding like Jason. Unless you’re going to do it … he wasn’t kidding 😂
Loved this video because you're in my neck of the woods. I had no idea that something like this was so close to where I live. Such a shame the tragedy and loss.Thank you for the tour.
The room soon as you walk in was used for his awards with the glass shelving, and the other room where he took up the floors was his in home studio. I’m his nephew and this home was definitely strictly for his video, and moved out shortly after
@@lioniphone8664 it was originally purchased for personal use, family events and just him being there really. Then he decided to shoot a music video at his house, and a lot of people then knew where he lived which was a privacy hazard so he moved and bought another house he actually has a couple properties this wasn’t due to couldn’t afford or none of that lol my uncle is doing fine now has a baby own the way, and just living life
Hey Bigbanks~~~I live across the River from St Louis so I was a huge Nelly fan. I thought the same thing about that mural room being a studio at one time. It’s a shame that it stands empty 😞😞😞
Watching from Pennsylvania. The view outside is gorgeous and the house is beautiful. Your girlfriend is very pretty. Thank you for sharing have a great week 😊
Hey there! I live in St. Louis. Wildwood, where this house is located, is about a 30 minute drive from me. I know a few people who have gone by and seen this home but I myself have not. I think it’s a decent mansion-not too over the top. I like the all white theme. Your girlfriend looks lovely. I wish I could tag along on your explorations. Tell her she doesn’t know how lucky she is!
If I were a celebrity I'd live in the smallest mansion ever. Idk, big houses like that creep me out. I imagine someone living in the other unoccupied 8,000 sqft. of my home. I'd have squatters and not even know it. 😂 But I do feel bad the home is going to waste. If I were the builder , I'd be especially sad!
Keep doing this . Guys like you are going to keep these places alive once they are actually gone . As far as my favorite part ,, I would love to have that home theater .
Watching from Vancouver, Canada. Love your channel! This mansion is ok (thou I've seen you do nicer ones). I find the kitchen quite small given the size of the house. Great job! 🥰
Big Bankz I'm in extreme north west Missouri and love to see more of your videos in Missouri if there is places available to visit for you be safe my friend.
On a personal note. I'm so glad to see you so happy. You are a new man and I think a great girl might have something to do with it. You seem excited about exploring again. It's not just a thing you did it is now a thing you love to do and it shows. You and Jeremy make great content with research and care of the homes you are in. I say all that to say this...welcome back it's so nice to see you with such joy and passion 😊
What a horribly claustrophobic and cramped little house. This floor plan is terrible. The architect must have been out of his mind. How did they manage to take such a large amount of space and use it so inefficiently?
I was thinking the same thing, it looks kinda tight with all the pillars, narrow staircase & hallways not very good use of space and the high ceilings waste heat & cooling.
Omg you were in STL???? Born & raised almost 50 years in STL. So awesome!!! Can’t wait to see the video, I know this house well. It’s about 40 mins from me. Nelly actually grew up like 10 mins from me.
I was in SSM hospital. I've been sick since November and being in Illinois, SSM had no specialist for what I needed. I needed a GI doctor and St. Louis was the closest one.
@@vickycooper4214 I am so sorry your not feeling well😔🥲 I hope you feel better soon❤️🙏Oh yes we have some fabulous GI Dr’s. I have colitis so GI Dr’s are my best friends.
My father built his house in eureka by the ski resort, I remember him telling me how cool and genuine nelly was and the conversations they had about the house. He even offered him a drink after work some days, shot jokes and had small talk til he had to leave.
Awesome House!! It does look much larger think the columns took up valuable space! We'd love to meet your girlfriend hope she loves exploring as we All do!! ☮️
Personally I find extremely huge homes eerie and creepy. Even when they are being lived in. They’re always on remote land with the house eerily standing there alone.
11:29 i got the same feeling...i also got a warm feeling never knew much about nelly but by the look of the mansion he was a bright energetic soul absorbing fun personally beautiful place great vid partner looks lovely hope you guys have plenty of fun days together to come thanks for all you do ✨☘️
Aloha from Oahu, Hawai'i. His master bath was cool, but that closet gotta be bigger...lol Mahalo, for sharing this amazing find. Hope your gf enjoyed it too. 🙏♥️🤙
