Looks like I most serious toy - and a fast one. Just struggled to keep my little Itiwit X500 upright on the Ardèche river. Without much success. So the Viper is clearly not a boat for me. Yet awesome to look at! Love the rather traditional shape!

IMHO any paddlesport being compared with cycling is kind of apples and oranges.K1 gets the legs involved more than any other kayak paddlesport but cycling is a different thing altogether. The amount of muscle mass and aerobic load from cycling is far greater than K1 paddlesport. That said K1 and cycling are made for each other as far as crosstraining is concerned. Each is so different and engages mostly different muscle groups so they complement each other well.

Hey, looking for something to replace the road bike Really like the look of these as i dont want to tour or paddle about - just want pace When you say 'fitness kayak' does that refer to just non-racing kayaks or is there another sub-category 'fitness'

Hi James, thanks for your interest in our boats. Paddling is a great sport and a good replacement for road bike. We called this range "Fitness" because although they have everything it needs to compete, their wide range allows anyone (whether or not an athlete) to choose one of these models and can go out paddling safely, with fun and with the proper performance that each model offers.

Have you got one? Before starting I would really try one out. A top range boat might spoil the fun in the sport. I watched people who were totally frustrated with a sporty boat. That refers to racing, playboating & white water. And paddling can easily become dangerous, particularly around damms! Or obviously in white water from grade 3, even lower grades depending on water levels
