Nelson’s 8 Rules
Those who plot control charts or those who interpret these, are in dilemma sometimes. These rules were formulated by Lloyd S Nelson of ASQ.
He stated that all these rules pertain to abnormal working conditions and also indicated the reasons for the origin of the problem. QC engineers will find these useful and will also be able to detect the root causes once they are able to see the correlation of the problem with these 8 rules.
