I like the videos from you guys. Just a suggestion. I couldn’t read either of you guys objectives or cards, maybe if you can put the image of the card on screen or the text written on it would be great if you can’t read it out loud

Agreed, the two of them are quite clear in their rules explanations. It would be awesome if the game had glow in the dark text/board as this seems like a game that is greatly enhanced by the right ambiance.
Yeah, these guys are unbelievably underrated. Love the playthroughs, I think thei review section is getting more interesting every video, and even though I don't always agree with their end assessment, I find it useful. Truly great work.
Thanks to both of you for these videos. I love the content y'all provide. I agree with y'all on the secret objectives. I would love to see multiple scoring opportunities on one card to flesh out the theme and role you ultimately end up playing. For example, Anthony's objectives could be centered around being a "hero;" three points for killing the queen, two points for signaling, and one point for assisting another player with a alien kill. Maybe the final objective could even be repeatable throughout the game. I think that would not only provide more interesting choices on how you strategically approach each game, but it would also give you a stronger thematic connection to your character. Obviously this added complexity would require more testing for balance, but I think it would up the enjoyment quite a bit. Anyhoo, thanks again for the content!
2 and a half hours went by flying! - good demo - good camera angle (even if the cards text isn't super visible) - good chemistry between the players I'm not a crazy table top gamer but I'm definitely considering buying this as I LOVE the Alien universe and sci-fi horror in general. Liked and subbed!
This is a fun game, quite a few components to it. Cool theme, you two are a great combination, I subscribe to a lot of different gaming preview/review sites and you two are right up there with some of the best.
1 thing the vents or "technical corridor" has it's own space where there can be only 1 noise token at a time. If you roll a vent as a noise result you put the token on that space and the next vent result (regardless of room) spawns the intruder in that room. If you spawn an intruder in a room with a vent acces (there are noise results for the vent) than the technical corridor noise is removed like all other corridor noise tokens around the room. Makes sense and just a thing i noticed. But the rest seemed fine having the same problems with the PnP rules clarity wise, but you mentioned this also. Very good video you guys!
I missed the Pioneers playthrough a couple weeks ago, so this is my first time seeing the new 2-cam setup, and I love it! Keep up the amazing work, guys!
It would be interesting if there were micro-objectives as you discuss in the conclusion, whether public or not, that could be combined with a micro-deck-building mechanism. Like, if each character came with a few "improved" cards that you could earn by doing the micro-objectives, swapping them in for one of your starting cards. Would also create an interesting strategic choice: delay your macro objective to try to improve your future turn efficiency, or just focus on the victory conditions.
They added something to the game but not the thing you mentioned but it sounds pretty interesting. You'll now get two secret objectives from 2 different decks. So you'll have two things you are trying to achieve. However, when the first encounter with an alien happens (to any player) then everyone has to discard one objective. It gives you some freedom at the beginning but then you need to narrow your game down. I like the idea in theory so that might interest you as well.
Great review. I'm a huge fan of the alien series and the look and feel of this game is right up my street. Also the micro objectives you mentioned could give victory points or something similar so at the end game players could be ranked. This way if three people win then the micro objectives could be used to see who was the most effective player. Loved your review and have now subscribed.
Great job you two. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire game play session. I was thinking of getting this game but was worried it may not be enjoyable for only two players and now I know that it would be a great deal of fun.
a nice idea with the additional objectives. Maby they coulld do the motivitation instead of objective. Your motiviation is money: - You have to find a Egg and researche it - bring another egg with you to the drop pod - Make sure the ship travel to Mars your motivitation is to save the earth: - make sure that all the researches are done (you don't have to do it on your own) - kill at least 5 Intruders - send a warnsignal - make sure the ship travel to any other planet than earth or distroy the ship. your motivitation is to bring every one back alive: - Bring the dead Crew member to a Drop pod and make a space funeral. (make sure that no one make a research with the Dead Crew member) - Find the Emergency Room. if there is no Emercency Room make a temporality Emercency Room (to do that bring 3 Med Supplyes to the Hybernation Room) - Heal one other Player ( I don't know if that is possible) there are a lot of possibilitys for a Motivitation
Best play through of Nemesis. Couple of game improvements - shower room search probably includes the locker area where clothes are hanging but would anyone leave their weapon lying around? I think tool cards only might be more thematic. How about 'dental floss' that could be used with grenades so when combined it creates a tripwire explosive.

I hope Awaken Realms get your thoughts on how to "expand" the game (bonus/side missions) and such one way or the other and consider these (if that's not probably already part of any Stretch Goals or such anyway)... Beside that, great video and I'm really looking forward to this one after it. I like the theme, look and mechanics based on what I've seen.

Just to note about winning: if the self-destruct was on and the ship jumped, it blows up. So setting the timer and escaping in the pod would have been enough to win the game.

Looks like a great game. As I play mainly with my kids, only hidden objectives are not that great fun for a family play. So i hope the designer will consider your idea of adding some open objectives. So I will be checking the Kickstarter once launching
Waiting to get my nemesis box... It fun to see the differences between your demo version and the final product. Also you forgot to move the auto destruct maker for 3 turns... It should be equal to jump+1.

Both thumbs up for you both :) And a sub to your channel for sure ;) I backed this game a few days before and I really appreciate your play through and your thoughts in the end, wich gave me a deeper look into the system and the mechanics. btw I have never watched a hole play through to the end, longer then 1 h. This was the 1. one with such a long play time, because you both are so kind :) Now I´m so excited about this game, can´t wait to get it :D I´m even thinking about to order it in English instead of German, just because I don´t want to wait 3 month more to get the translated German Version^^ But I have something to note to your thoughts in the end of the video and your idea of additional minor objektives: Although I think this is a good idea, maybe it would not be necessary, or not working, if you play the game with more than 2 players. Because, if you have 3 or 4 players, you not only have to figure out how to achieve your own objektive, but you have to do a lot more to handle the other players and their sabotage and to have an eye on them. So maybe achieving more (minor) objektives would be to much to handle or would not be necessary, because achieving your own objektive AND handle the other players and their sabotage would be hard enough with 4 players. Maybe you have to undo their sabotage (maybe even more than once ?), wich cost a lot more "time" and attention, so the main objektive would be enough to do. And you would have to handle more Aliens with more players too :) I think this game really shines with 4 players. But additional minor objektives are still a good idea! It just depends on how it will be implemented and how it works with more players. But anyway, I think you really do a great job! Did you played it with more then 2 players? If yes, does it played much different with more players? Do all players loose except the player that blows the ship up if he is told in his objective?

18:25 Frances used some card in the cocpit, and Anthony said something like "wow, I thought you gonna end it really fast" - is it really possible to end the game that fast? Or is there some preparation that has to be done, mentioned by Anthony, and acctually it is not that simple?
So how does it actually hold up with 2 players - i know how the game works and always played with 4-5 so iam not watching the whole video. :P id just like to know if anyone has experience with 2 players. Would u just play 2 characters or even 4 while only having 1 objective? It seems to be better with 3+ i guess.
When Frances is fighting the alien @1:14:25, shouldn't her first hit do 2 damage, per the weakness to energy weapons revealed by researching the egg? And then her second attack would do 4 more (2 + 1 + 1)?
Hey Sam, look at Arkham Horror or Legendary Encounters. From my experience it`s always worth the 10 - 15 minutes to set these games up. That is where the theme and replayability comes from. And if you do it the 3rd time you`ll be a lot faster then initially.
You say this is similar to Dead of Winter. I hated Dead of Winter because the rulebook was sooo terribly written. I was always confused about where the zombies could come in or exit and other main gameplay elements. Would you say the rulebook for this game was terribly written? Are they getting reviewer feedback like yours to help adjust the rulebook to make it complete and cover as much as possible?
I forgot all about Gak! ..oh the days lol For "alien style" games, how does this compare to Level 7 Omega Protocol? Level 7 has been compared to the "Aliens" movie while mowing down aliens. This one seems closer to the first "Alien" where they pop out then hide and repeat. The games seem like they'd scratch a different itch, but I wonder which one is more interesting for you to play? I haven't played Level 7.. and obviously not this one.
Dawid Janik That is true. But they play with pre-kickstarter rules. High player groups had big downtimes while waiting for other players playing all cards from their hands. So there was this rulechange.
I have not played the game. Don't believe it would scale for two players. The game was a KS several months ago. Components were beautiful and the theme was very appealing. However, the gameplay looked lackluster upon my cursory review. Was curious if the company had sent you and Francis a copy. Appreciate how you don't provide a score or thumbs up, but rather a detailed discussion of the game looking at several facets. Very useful to me. Thanks for the insight on this one.
on second viewing, looks like in the early game, all those "!" should've spawned you an intruder instead of nothing happening.. so I think your game would've ended alot worse if not early
Jason Kwong The rules state that a ! On a roll only means you are lucky if an intruder is not in an adjacent room. This doesn’t spawn an intruder as you would think. We checked with the designer before this video was filmed.

David Moreno Rules changed since Essen. We live chatted with the publisher during the filming of this playthrough. Keep in mind that this is probably going to happen again as this game is still being tweaked.
I know its a hidden objective game, but it looks like there is nearly no player interaction, right? Downtime could be boring with 5 players. What do you Think?
Maftiosi We think there would be a good amount of player interaction at higher player counts. There are a lot of objective cards that require another player to die. This would force players to focus their actions on ensuring that other player somehow meets their demise.
In nemesis the aliens act based on random cards, in the movie aliens act intelligently. Big difference. Avoid game, it needs much more fine tuning. Especially make some kind of climax.
