A very special group of Ladies, a pleasure to watch and listen to.. Do their cover of the famous Japanese band Sekima II and their song Cursed sh na na na na na..(similar to kiss with face makeup and heros of these ladies growing up) Same vein as this one, great fun and a very cool tribute to their heros. Absolutely killed the cover to as usual with them.
they really used the covid break with the covers and could even increase their popularity. they are such an amazing band. pls do not forget the journey cover. ☺
This is one of the videos that got the name the Laughing Thunder for Hara and Tamu and one of the big contributors to why there so good the communication between these two the heart of the band is superb when you see a full concert you see why .
Hara-chan pokes her tongue out a lot, even when they're not playing a Kiss song, lol. She and Tamu (drums) are the main smiling/laughing sub-unit within the band, and Hara-chan is a bit of a loose cannon when it comes to pranking and saying outrageous stuff (despite her deceptively small, soft speaking voice).
This is the very video that got me into Japanese Female bands. I was looking at covers one night, found this one. This led me to other videos of their, other covers and their originals. Eventually I got recommendations for Band-Maid, got hooked on them. That lead to Lovebites. That lead to Wagaki Band. That lead to others. But Nemophila, Band-Maid, Lovebites and Wagaki Band are the one I listen to the most. I have been lucky to catch Band-Maid Live 4 times. Dallas, Houston and Austin. Nemophila, twice in Austin and then Dallas. Hope to see Lovebites if they come this way next year. I gave up on new rock and metal, for literally decades. These bands reignited my love for the music.

KISS ALIVE! is a desert island disc (two, actually). It holds up today. NEMOPHILA began showing up in my feed as I was tumbling down the BAND-MAID rabbit hole during the pandemic, but I didn’t dare getting involved with another band. But the thumbnail for DETROIT ROCK CITY was irresistible; I figured if the cared enough to put on the makeup, they were real KISS fans and they must be up to something special. And special they are, indeed. I’ve seen them twice in the US so far, and I can’t wait for another chance to see them again. They also introduced me to a bunch of other great band. By the time you got into music, Kiss was irrelevant and just bad. 99.9% of their good shit was put out before 1979. They made about 4 or 5 good songs since.
