Band Maid is starting to get it at least when they were recently here they moved them from a 500 to a 1500 venue that is in Dallas. But you are right all three groups are impressive and deserve larger venues. I'm hoping Lovebites tours the US soon. The only problem with large venues it's not as intimate but the band get well deserved more money.
Just considering those 3 bands you mentioned, I'm amazed by the level of talent and skill in all three. Each member of each band is strong. By contrast, one of my fav childhood bands, GnR, people will talk about Slash, but not Duff or the drummer, and I can't even name all the members of Pearl Jam. Maybe it's because they're pretty Japanese women, or maybe it's because I appreciate their skill, but I can name all the members of these bands. I think I'm the target fan base for these Japanese bands- Western, used to be a musician, was into 80s/90s rock/metal, loves stuff from Japan. 😂
Well, let's see...two of the bands do not voice their lyrics entirely in English; they're all-female bands (more or less) in genres that traditionally have very limited acceptance levels for such bands (the Girlschools and Iron Maidens of the world are exceptions, not the norm); the genres that they represent are seen as passe; they have the audacity to be non-white and to come from a "foreign land". (You may ask, what about Rammstein -- they play primarily metal and come from a foreign land; true, but they are male, and white, and bring a large, established fan base with them, AND, considering the relationship between English and Old German, they are not all that "foreign"). Now back to the Japanese groups that you mentioned...let me say that, even given most of the points above, the North American music, entertainment media and promoters have little vision, even fewer guts, and should know that, if you don't give exposure to a genre *surprise* building a large audience of fans is virtually impossible. Self-fulfilling Prophesy 101. I know that it's still Winter, and that your heads are nice and warm in the places that you have them, but...get your heads out of your as__s, do the right thing, find some courage (see the Wizard if you have to) and give these Ladies the legitimate chance that they deserve!
@@pappysheart6710 Not really a surprise. With each generation that passes, it gets easier to learn perfect technique, from the plethora of mediums available for the very young age to learn.tthen there is the transition through so many sub genres, with which to put music together of more intricate quality - it's a natural passage, it doesn't matter whether they were women or men. In fact, it doesn't Even matter how old they are. *Each of these bands are impressive, but the reason why there isn't a larger venue, is because there isn't a large audience in the West. There is a reason why we don't see many Western bands performing metal any more… It died out 25 years ago, grunge took over… Then electronic music and hip-hop and then the hybrid ooverly produced trash that the vast majority of people under 30 "Still" like nowadays… Rock and Metal became all completely lost and unsalvageable after the reality TV experiments(Pop Idol and X Factor) and the lack of grassroots bands getting any popularity, or audience as a result, and therefore drying up. We are all in a minority and half of us are over 40
For those complaining about sound. Really?? This it not a official pro-shot with a inline soundboard mix. It's a camera with a mic picking up the sound that is closest. (Prob a phone) .. Although, I do see "Tiny the Tech" was having some issues with Saki's gear.. It was put up for those who are not there can have a chance to see them rocking. Thanks Jay!! 🤘🏻🎸😋
Totally agree, its footage we wouldn't have been privilege to (no matter the quality)if it hadn't been recorded. Its the modern day bootleg, theres always room for bootlegs, long live the bootleg 🤘🤘
I know some guys who, if they have these technical issues from the start of the show, would just get the tech and pull all their teeth out. The Ladies are real ladies
Clubs like this is where Band Maid performed in the US and Europe for years. Nemophila will have to do the same, except They will get to larger venues a bit quicker. Those of us who have been Japanese Rock/Metals fans for years will spread the word. Today, a waitress who said she was a rock fan, Led Zeppelin. I told her there are beautiful Japanese Ladies who would blow Page off the stage. Gave a list. Will a report from in a day or two.
Such a great band full of amazing misiciens, and two of their best songs... Two the best double leads out there in Saki and Hazuki, and you can't hear them? SOUNDGUY.... ?? 😡
I think there's only so much sound pressure a phone's mic can cope with. At that proximity to the PA and backline it won't matter how good the room mix is, a recording is gonna sound rough.
@@Dead-Eye Truth. This dude was way off-axis. He would have to be in the middle towards the back and up off the ground in order for the best chance to catch a proper balance of frequencies in there.
@@Dead-Eye Yeah, I guess so, type of phone too could add to the problem.. I have watched so many fan phone clips and they are all different. Would have so like to be there, hope they come to France..
@@TheCyberMantis Yes centre room would have been better for the capture I guess. These videos are great for showing the ambiance in the room which is awesome, but don't really help the band much, especially for a first time viewer and listener..
Also, based on where he is, he's right on front of the house speakers, so he's getting 100% if Saki's Amp... I was on the other side right in front of Hazuki and could barely hear Saki. It's a sacrifice we make to be on the rail. For the SF show I was on the rail dead center and the mix was brilliant (albeit bass heavy but that was a house issue)
Awesome. Be careful tho i just lost my RU-vid account i had for 13 years because i posted 30 second clips of their whiskey show 8 months ago. Without warning.
In America, Saki has had bad luck with her guitar sound for the second time. She's just not used to that kind of shit from Japan. How can this happen at the start of the show??? Don't these people know who they're looking at? Hello ?! It's the great Saki !
This is nice to see this side of the stage. There's video on YT from the other side near Hazuki. Look for that. P.S. Don't think it's from the same show.
Cause it's a small venue, because Nemophila, as awesome as they are, are still a relative new band with a relatively small fanbase in the US so far. They aren't going to tour arenas in the US.
@@LowSpecLinuxLaptop no i mean the fat dude running around on stage at the beginning - something wasn't plugged in- Saki's guitar was inaudible and she was like WTF. They were having sound issues. 😂. I very much appreciate whoever uploaded this and will not complain about the sound quality of the upload! I'm not one of those types.
@@pappysheart6710 Yes she did have issues at first even though it was OK for sound check....I can only guess one of the pedals wasn't plugged in all the way but had made good enough contact during sound check....Tech got it goin pretty quick.
@@pappysheart6710 Yeah, poor Saki! No sound! Glad he got it fixed tho. You see her JVM410H up there? Just for looks, wasn't even plugged in. Both guitars running powered Kempers. I think Saki is endorsed by Marshall, so she has to keep up with public relations. ☺
@@TheCyberMantis I do not speak for Tamu and hubby, or Haruna, or the thousands of women worldwide who have recently embraced shorter-than-shoulder-length haircuts. I only speak for myself and, in that context, I can embrace any opinion that I wish, and the right to voice it. However, if anyone wishes to shave their head, cut messages into their skin, or have themselves injected with blue dye to give their skin a new tint, they have every right to do so without consulting me.
@@TheCyberMantis No, it's not a deal-breaker by any means. But it is a nice "start". However, dying your skin any color, or carving things into your person (ref. my comment from earlier today) WOULD be a deal-breaker with me. If I came-off as too "edgy" in any of my comments to you, I apologize.
Sure they do. Nemophila rule too! While I enjoy LoveBites very much, I am huge Nemophila fan. People forget you can like more than one band I think. It isn't a competition.
@@shawnfuton6746 you couldn't be more right. I love these girl bands from the island of the risen sun but right now we are discussing Nemophila and our love of them this is not a competition. Having said that I love the little engine that could Tamu.
