You should check out the side by side Nemophila vs Journey versions of the video that someone created. You can see how much Nemophila honored the original video.
Dude, by all means, react to ALL of their covers! They’re so much fun and to tell the truth, they made me like their covers of songs that I hated back when they were released!😄💪🏻🤘🏻
@@jimmysrandom Absolutely. That is what I love about Nemophila. Not only making excellent music, but also producing funny covers. Also the "Limp Biscit" production is hilarious.
Indulge away. All of the covers they have done is part of their journey. They kept us entertained while they were writing music. I can say that this is one of the covers that caught me off guard but I love it. They have such fun personalities and it is just as fun to watch them as it is to listen to them.
What really amazing about Mayu singing this is she really didn't know any English and needed Saki's help with some of the pronunciation (one or both of Saki's parents are English tutors). English is very difficult for a native Japanese speakers because of the difference in ways sentences are formed (Japanese has that sudden cadence, different sentence structure and pitch emphasis) plus there is no natural "luh" sound where you put the tip of your tongue on the roof of your mouth, which is why the "luh" sometimes sounds like "ruh". Said all that to say its a testament to how seriously Mayu takes her craft because that took a lot of patience and dedication to sing that clearly, plus she sounded GREAT!
Saki’s mother was a, “Cabin Attendant,” a term often used to describe flight attendants on international routes. I could be off on what that actually means, but yes airlines (including mine) hire foreign nationals to help with language. Her father was, or is an international businessman that spoke English. Saki picked up on English from her parents speaking it around the house to keep up their fluency. Of course that was a number of years ago. Saki is just over 30 now.
This cover is awesome and def worth checking out the side by side video that was done. Id like to suggest you check out their covers of Maximum The Hormone and Rottengraffty, even if you don’t know the bands or songs those covers are totally awesome.
the details. tamu even imitates, how the journey drummer held the sticks. like her moustache too. they must have had tons of fun. nemophila are awesome.
*Nemophila Fun Facts I:* Mayu imitated Steve Perry as best she can indoors. Right down to the top top. Along with Perry movements - going in the opposite direction. Believe you pickup a few all those with a grin. Here's the link to that side to side comparison of Journey's 1983 music video to Nemophila's 2022 video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mq5b5-e9Ico.html *Nemophila Fun Facts II:* The man who appeared and past Mayu twice is Mayu's husband. She got married January of 2022. The couple had their first child last December (2022). Mayu wanted to be a mother just like Murata Tamu (married with two children). *Nemophila Fun Facts III:* If you see any footage of Nemophila's Aftershock Festival appearance last October in Sacramento, California. Mayu was very pregnant. *Nemophila Fun Facts IV:* Since *Separate Ways* cover was released around the same time that Saki's old all female metal band, *Mary's Blood* went into an indefinite hiatus. Just wondering if Saki was sending a message to founding members Eye (vocalist) & Mari (drummer) that Saki was planning to leave *Mary's Blood* for *Nemophila.* Since Saki wants to go International & not stay local. Who knows.
I could not stop laughin (and later: grinning) because of their funny extras. 😁 Amazing, outstanding cover, musically _perfect_ , and full of winking respect. Their joy in everything they do is so enlightening and uplifting. 😊
I recommend the reactions of Saka's previous band (she plays first guitar solo here). Mary's Blood was a great band, especially live. It was while playing in it that Saki started being called Queen Of Shred. Mary's Blood - Wings (live) - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XqtIF1sFzNA.html From Nemophila I recommend - Demons Light. And also recommend some cover of a Japanese band.
That was a cool reaction, Jimmy! 🙂 They have a bunch of really good covers. Thinking about which ones to recommend to you to react to gave me an idea. Maximum the Hormone. Nemophila have done two MTH covers that are amazing. 'Shimi' and 'Zetsubo Billy'. That would be a good intro to MTH. 'Yoshu Fukushu' is a pretty great song that I think you (and Tucker) would really enjoy. Have a great day!
@@jimmysrandom he is 100% right 2 f their best covers along with Kurenai. Plus Yoshu Fukushu is the best Maximum the Hormone song to start with. The drummer of MTH, Nao us a huge influence on Tamu for Nemo and Akane from Band Maid.
I'm a long time, die-hard Journey fan. When their video for this song came out it was cringe-worthy and it still is. That's the fun of it though. I appreciate how this band worked to imitate the original....with a lot less cringe. lol Great review.
That was Great!!...Mayu the lead singer sings like a wildcat!..( probably stands 5'4" in her Doc Martens).. I am k-kinda ascared of her...could you imagine running into her in a haunted Japanese forest, under moonlight...only two choices run away or join her in her evil plans as her minion
