A huge piece of my teen years (and 20's) were spent watching all manner of Anime stuff and Neon Genesis Evangelion was probably one of my first.
The first time a heard that intro, along with the visuals, blew my mind before I had even watched 1 minute of it. I knew this was going to change everything, and it kind of did.
That theme is so ingrained in nostalgia for me that I had to try and recreate that song, but all I had were guitars.
