Wild! Too bad I don't have any friend that is into any of this shit. David Dean, 80s, Neon Indian and Dario Argento are a bundle only seen in my wet dreams.
@@robroux6074 The 80's aesthetic didn't really start to die until around 91, and probably lasted until the internet changed reality. Some of the most 80's movies and tv shows weren't released or completed until the early 90s. New Jack Swing really hit it's stride as a musical genre in the transition between 89 and 90 but is still associated with the 80's. 90's anime helped really solidify the link between 80's synth, new jack swing, and cyberpunk. You can see all of that on display in the music video for this song, which borrows heavily from Anime like Akira (1990) as well as 80's grindhouse movies.
Listened to this song for the first time right when my acid trip was starting and my brother Nick was trip sitting me and my brother, Nick passed away a few days ago and now I’m just crying reliving all the songs and moments we had together. Shit ain’t fair.
If that acid ever taught you anything it should be that your brother isn’t gone. Death don’t work that way. Take the dog cone off. You’ll see him. Everywhere. I truly hope you’ve found some peace and solace in his physical absence as time has passed. All the best man
@@Psychedelicbodega there’s never been a time where I’ve thought he was gone, don’t get me wrong, but it’s painful coming to grips with the reality that he’s no longer existing in the physical plane with us. He’s made his spirit known and obvious since he left but I’d do anything just to hear homie’s laugh one more time.
I'm so sorry for your loss I think he was taken from you to open your eyes god works in mysterious ways a friend of mine who retired from a 25 years career with the navy brother was murdered I believe had his brother not been murdered they would have never left the hell hole that was Humboldt park Chicago back in the 80s as his brother was calling it for the MLDS maniac latin disciples anyway he got shit died they moved out now they are all doing good god works in mysterious ways we might not agree or even understand his ways but he sparred you for a reason honor your brother by changing yourself if you haven't already I surrendered 12 years and 9 months ago I was a heroin addict or my drug of choice was it but I would take whatever you put Infront of me I am in no way judging you on the contrary hopefully this will I don't know inspire you it took countless times I started in 97 until 2010 it was 01-07-10 when I couldn't stand the person I'd become anyway 🙏🏼you & good luck.
I saw Alan 3 years ago at Granada Theater in Dallas Texas. Purity Ring was opening act. I was so blown away by the sounds and upbeat music performed live. I'VE BEEN WAITING 3-4 YEARS FOR THIS.
Alan keeps playing with my emotions with everything he's released so far. This sounds like he's been spending a lot of time with Chaz Bundick (Toro Y Moi) .. Can't wait til Night School yeeeeee
im talking about toro and neon. i forgot where i just remember seeing a photo on facebook if them together on stage recently. yeah i saw toro at the block party in Seattle. he didn't play anything from Causers of this, but he played his new album, and a few tracks from underneath the pine and anything in return. it was awesome regardless
***** I hate his new album with a passion. Just look at the crowd when he plays his older work compared to this! It's night and day and it's all about the energy of the music.
Sahil Doshi that's your opinion. I thought his new album was great. he's steering towards that live band style, and it's working. I'm a huge chaz stan tho, so lol.
***** I mean, of course its my opinion I'm not sure what it would be otherwise? I'm a huuuge Chaz stan too man so I'm really confused as to why the live band style just does not appeal to me. It does nothing for me. Maybe it is because I'm rooted in the electronic style that I fell in love with.
Hearing this song for the first time is phenomenal. Neon Indian, you've outdone yourself. This is so much more sophisticated than what you first put out. I feel like I'm getting old.
*Lyrics:* In the middle of May In the seconds of the very last shades of day I see that nobody's kids anymore Though we look that way from the 24th-floor window Cause it's easy to be the miser when no one's the wiser Easy to shake down Easy to glean the green from Bayridge to Queens Easy to wear the crown They say that this place ain't got a heart Cause I can still hear the beat And every night is oh-oh-oh-ah-oh, oh-oh-oh-ah-oh From all the way down the street It goes on and on and (as long as you got the money) On and on and (as long as you got the money) On and on and (as long as you got the money) On and on and (the slumlord doesn't care) Staying out the hallway and hold tight till Saturday Cause you got the rent to pay Dreams of shelling out next to none, with no rubicon Well, honey, those days are done Shelling out three Gs for four walls and keys Hey, at least you can run the town Shaking our pockets loose, but hey, what's the use? I guess we're takin' it sitting down They say that this place ain't got a heart Cause I can still hear the beat And every night is oh-oh-oh-ah-oh, oh-oh-oh-ah-oh From all the way down the street It goes on and on and (as long as you got the money) On and on and (as long as you got the money) On and on and (as long as you got the money) On and on and (as long as you got the money) It goes on and on and (but they want that money) On and on and (they want that money-eh-eh-eh-ey) On and on and (they want that money) On and on and (they want that money-eh-eh-eh-ey)
+Lizett Coronado Por supuesto que si pasa a mi canal grabe algunos vídeos de la Semana de las Juventudes, yo ya vi a Neon Indian en vivo 4 veces y el de Vega Intl. A friend of mine recommended fallout a few years back. I went on listening to change of coast, polish girlfriend, deadbeat summer and so on, Now here I am, enjoying another one. This is Gold!
neon indian sounds great, ive been in their first performance this month, this album its gonna be awesome, all the songs sound just great, it was a great show that night. kinda cool that they start their tour on mexico.
Great job once again Alan.. Don't forget us little people your friends in Austin. Hope your family is doing great! Hope to see you perform sometime soon!
I've done a bit of searching and have found that it is likely an early '80s Nolan/Dainese helmet. It looks a lot like an N44 from that era but I'm betting money on Dainese judging by the brand label on the helmet that is barely visible in the video. They used the same font as Nolan.
