I like the idea and will purchase. I can see many uses within families and small businesses etc...wouldn't have to do the colored key cover thing. #lockboss
Looks kind of Cool. I know some People that would like to use these for easy identification of commonly used keys. I WILL add these to My #Lockboss Collection to sell.
Great for folks who drop their keys. But, that assortment gonna make it hard to order the popular colors... I'll probably hold off until they put them in smaller bags. #lockboss
Would be an Interesting thing, if i wasn't an institutional locksmith, we use the same keys on a limited offering based on what the hospital needs! #Lockboss
Wow that is so awesome. I gonna order some. Color code for a Master keys system like the master key be red and change key blue or yellow. Anyways, they look coool😊. #lockboss
You should have released this video sooner - I placed my order yesterday, i may have added a box for giggles. Glad I had my sunglasses handy for this one. #LockBoss. PS After watching I checked them out- when you mentioned you were getting a mixed box, I thought you meant a box of mixed colors with KW1, SC1, and M1 in the same box. The problem I see with this is some colors will sell and others may not sell as well, so your going to end up with a batch of undesirable blanks.
Really curious how they react to impressioning. I'd love to have something that shows the marks even just marginally better than nickle plated brass blanks. #Lockboss
IMPORTANT -- PROBLEM -- It is very easy to cut these keys to deep -- SLOW DOWN the speed of pushing the key blank into the cutting wheel ESPECIALLY on the last few spaces of cut near the tip. Personal experience KW1 JMA NEON color blanks code cutting with HPC 1200 I cut a number of keys that wouldn't work. Investigation revealed cuts 4 and 5 were up to 0.019 to deep! Apparently the key is quite thin and flexible and somehow it gets "pulled" into the cutter on spaces 4 and 5 causing an over depth cut. Solution was to SLOW DOWN the rate of cutter engagement as you approach the last cut depth in the last 15 - 20 thousands. I'm used to aggressively cutting normal blanks very quickly which causes over depth cuts with these key blanks. My #lockboss experience.
Wow, I thought I was having an 80s flashback,. Of course for that to be real they would need to offer it in a totally tubular blank as well. Either way I am adding these to my next order. BTW is there any way to add something to a wish list or mark something as a favorite on your website to make it easier to save things up for the next order? Just wondering, Thanks #Lockboss
JMA has a great idea. Many times people buy key identifier's (those little rubber rings to surround the head of the key) to make it easier to distinguish which key is for what lock. What this #lockboss has issues with is the math. 50 does not equally divide by 7. Which color do they decide doesn't make the cut for the last key?
Does anyone have long-term experience with these keys? I am concerned that these are Aluminum, not brass or nickel silver. Are they durable to hold up to years of daily use the same as brass or do they wear quicker? Is the Aluminum dust going to gum up the locks? Also, Aluminum-oxide is toxic - is that something to be noting? If they are more durable than nickel silver, then that would be great, but they seem to punch like butter.
I was wondering the same thing. I've been product testing with my own house key, it is one of their aluminum black kw1 keys. I wanted to see how the wear was and any other issues that might come up with is as a daily use key. I've been using it at least 3 times per day for 6 months without issue but am interested to see how two years go before I can feel comfortable recommending them.
@@clksuppliesI ordered a few boxes. Yes the core is brass. The keys appear to be powder coated brass. The coating scratches off rather easily. These are great for the locksmith business, because the coating debris in the cylinder will create more business. I personally would have preferred some well-done neon powder coated bows on brass or nickel silver keys. I won’t use these current ones myself and cannot recommend them for anything used often for consumers.
