Regarding navigation search, you can do it from the phone and start trip, it will resume on the HUD. So, you do not have to search it using the remote control, its easier this way. I think i will buy one, its great besides that wire that doesn't look good.
@@SaabUnleashed Talking of which, I really want to fit an Android head unit into my 2009 9-3 convertible but I can't really spare £300. I've seen you fit so many units into your 9-3, what would you say is currently the best budget friendly option. Want to use Android auto.
This is a very cool device but that gigantic branding letters in the back of the unit facing you 24 hours a day and destroying any kind of seamless integration on any car is an instant killer for me. Why brands do this and that just HAVE TO PLASTER their name on everyone's faces is something I will die not understanding. Thanks for video, cool device, DOA for me for branding.
I have 60s car and I want to have a modern Apple CarPlay / android auto stereo without intrusion of a permanent screen. This would be a great starting point for my sort of application, although I would like to have the ability of voice control and a wired connection directly to the speaker system. Also having the projector separate so it can be inset into the dashboard out of the way would be amazing. I guess all of this would be possible with some effort and experimenting 😊
After a recommendation, just converted over from a kenwood to a xtrons tsf721a . I much prefer a physical volume knob as its so much quicker than haptic and more convenient when driving but ive got a feeling ill get bored of how slow it operates . Is there and better spec android units which keep physical buttons on?
Yes, there's many. If you check my channel you'll see plenty of head units have physical controls. Actually the easier thing you can do is look at the spreadsheet linked in the video description here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dadsGNPwTSs.html
Thanks for the review! Could you use Android Auto from one of the Android head units and display, for example, maps on this HUD? Btw, this looks very similar to Boyo VTHUDpro which costs much less.
I looked up the reviews for Boyo pro and they're not good..😣I am on the hunt for a HUD with a good overall customer satisfaction rating and so far no such luck😱This search is getting so tiring, irritating, aggravating & annoying!😭Its like I'll never find one that truly fits the bill & checks off all the boxes!😫
If it could be solar powered and avoid that cable or have like a wireless charging feature also, then you could just plug it in on very long road trips but for the everyday it would have enough power to sustain itself along with solar. This is very cool but I wish there was more review of using it and in the dark, etc.
Sounds finnicky! I have a car with bluetooth - would really enjoy some apple carplay as my car doesn't have that but I care a lot about the call quality which seems it might be bad due to the built in mic? You don't say anything about that in your clip.
It would be cool if communicates with your phone via bluetooth. Actually, it would be great, if it was like a projector for the phone, so you set navigation on the phone, and see the image on the HUD. Otherwise, it's messy to have modern Android Car, a suitable (let's say) smartbusinessphone and to be bound by that ... remote on the wheel.
It looks good, but I suppose when you use this you lose the hands free phone feature that you would otherwise have. Or does it have a built in mic? Thanks for an interesting video.
I have a great HUD from eBay that displays speed/revs/voltage etc and plugs in to the OBD2 port. Cheap as chips and has the advantage that it lays completely flat and only the reflection is visible. A HUD is no place for an OS you need to interact with in any way.
Not sure how you can't find a link, Google takes you straight to their Aliexpress store front where you can buy it. Living in the US is irrelevant because the majority of Android head unit brands are imported from China at the point of ordering. Anyway, as for Jmance, I have never personally reviewed. I will see if I can get hold of one to look at. Specifications do seem to be good. That being said, Joying is a very respected brand and they also have a 15.1 inch high spec head unit, and one of those is on it's way to me now, so expect a review soon
Why hasn’t any manufacturer simply developed a transparent HUD screen that feeds an output of what’s on the display of the head unit? 🤔 Wait, did I just invent something?!? Y’know, plug it into a USB port or something and Bob’s your uncle…
A cool idea, I feel the navigation side needs a bit more work to make it usable, would be nice if the "screen" was a bit bigger as well. but a great idea for a standalone product and can definitely see this one appealing to a few people.
Just awesome 👍🏻😎 I don't have a Tesla model 3 or other car that are into "all in a screen approach". But I'd love to have a unit like this, specially if it's in a price range of max 100usd... Is there any Chinese competitors for a cheaper price than a Japanese one? Thanks in advance 👍🏻
i have bought the ekiy T8 but i cant seem to get a hold of the 4 letter password for 360 camera calibration, if anyone has it. it would be much appreciated
So, the burning question is............ I bet it's not still installed.......... That ghastly wiring is reminiscent of an 80's communal install for Analogue TV........... Heads up here - (No Pun intended) But I'll bet money it's in the Unleashed Bin rather than in the DEMO car...........
i dont like this device because: 1. a fm transmitter has not good audio quality 2. the controlls are shit, instead pairing it via bluetooth over android woult be a better solution, or like other manufacturers do just make a screen monitoring function... but great video
