Banaras also called Varanasi, is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a holy city for Hindus and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. It is also home to some of India’s most famous monuments, including the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which is said to be over 5000 years old.
I was always fascinated by Photographs from Banaras clicked by photographers all around the world. Many photographers from all around the world must have visited Banaras once in their lifetime. If not, at least they have dreamt of but the dream did not get fulfilled.
My brother studied there at Banaras Hindu University, I always wanted to visit that place while he was there, but never got the chance. But in the year 2021 August after he once decided to visit that place, asked me if I can also go and travel with him. One evening I left on a flight, from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. I flew reached Nepalgunj, along with my 2 brothers, and the journey started. Rupehidiya a place in UP side of our border was our starting point for India. The bus from Rupehidiya takes 6-7 hours. We reached Lucknow around 7pm we had our train to Banaras from Charbaug station around 11:30. We took a rickshaw and reached Station and waited for hours. It took almost 6 hours to reach Banaras from Lucknow via train.
I did not get a chance to cover the maximum part of Banaras. So will come back to this place soon.
