Received your reply thanks, previously did same trek ,no guide, porter, often, usually start Bhandar to EBC,walk out via Phaplu .Shocked at road construction all trek routes. Intend mid late November a walk in to EBC,this will possibility last trek Nepal due to new guide rules and continuous road works.Glad did lots trekking old days including restricted regions. At least they are relatively untouched.
Hi Roy. Thanks for sharing your n your teams experience. Very few follow this route to ENC these days. I took this trek about 20 yrs back. Not a lot has changed except for the network of motor roads which seems to be expanding along the mountains. Thanks to you n your brave team. You guys seem to be doing great. Best wishes. Hope you will find what you came for in Nepal.
Thanks for you kind feedback and glad to hear you have done it previously. Yes very few, most that go this route do it going in as we did and you I understand so we don’t know how many are ahead or behind us behind what I do know we never ran into or stayed with any other group u til we reached the main highway I call it from Lukla to Namche. Coming the other way we only passed a handful of trekkers under 10 I’d say during the 8 days. But that may change with more options to catch a Jeep in rather than fly to Lukla although it’s a very long windy road to endure and that’s prob not going to change anytime soon however the quality of the roads will improve over time as they get used more and more especially to transport goods. I sure hope any road never gets built passed Lukla. In my view that will destroy the unique experience of trekking in that region.
