I don't think so. I'm not sure but think it may be to do with rejecting an old bullet which isn't air tight anymore. Try a new bullet first to see if it still does it with that maybe.

The spring is a part of the air restricter, which sort of regulates how much air pushes the dart out. Removing it doesn’t necessarily increase or decrease the performance, but if there was any change, it would be positive. It does make the gun quite a bit louder though.
