My only real complaints about the Motoblitz are the non-removable scope and the fact that it uses 4 AAs instead of 6. It wouldn't have been difficult for Nerf to have made the scope removable or to just up the voltage a little with two more batteries to hit the 100'ish fps numbers Dart Zone flywheelers are hitting, but as is it's... well, it's Dart Zone or nothing.
These are my exact thoughts. I think a mega attachment would have been cool, and it would have been cooler if the whole master key were n strike compatible, but you summed up my only two big complaints.
im gonna go out on a limb here and say that its probably the best off the shelf blaster for hvz currently, pro blasters hit too hard and short darts are i think still banned for hvz in most places. theres other strong contenders like the villanator but for flywheels its probably the best.
@@beanslinger6 sure but mags are faster to reload and it doesn't have a master key, I also haven't seen any tomahawks on shelves for a while but that could just be my area.
I do like the shotgun master key, but I think I’d still take the spectrum over this. I say this because in my personal experience, the weaker the flywheel blaster, the more unreliable it is as the motors bog down and it will jam if I’m in a pinch and try to fire quickly. The spectrum can keep up with higher rate of fire and I’ve only had jams when using low quality magazines. However, the shotgun on this would be great.
I think nerf doesn't pander to the adult foam slingers because they make too much from the never ending tsunami of kids being born. Also, I would guess the law suits over the years have made an impact (all sort I assume).
I think the Infinus is the really pinnacle of latest nerf blaster. Merging the pros of the magazine and the built in toghether. I splitted the flywheels circuit from mine and overvolted to 9.6 volts and is now all that I needed. The motoblitz is beautiful and well builted. Very happy Hasbro listened the community feedback! Thanks Dr Flux!
The Infinus is great, but it's also like 4.5 years old and starting to get old. I don't know about the rest of the world, but I can't get it at stores near me anymore. It's not like the Stryfe where even if it is discontinued, Nerf will continue making similar semi-auto flywheeler. I just wish they would make more Infinus or more blasters that has the same dart loading feature as the Infinus.
On the point of the Rayven being slower than the Motoblitz, that's because you're using the N-strike version. N-strike performance is ~50 fps, while Elite is ~70, if not occasionally reaching 80. For a fairer comparison, you should've used a Rayvenfire, as it was released as N-strike Elite, so it does reach 70.
For a blaster straight off the store shelf, it's a pretty competent HvZ blaster. Yeah, I wish it shot mega or mxl with the air tank. And I hope that someone will succeed in converting it. But let's face facts. In the entire history of Nerf(brand), only a handful of blasters have ever shot multiple ammo types. It's easy to criticize the blaster for what it isn't, but I think it also deserves to be appreciated for what it is.
agree, if it use mega XL on 2nd air pump launcher. it will be hit like a Particle Projector Cannon into enemies (PPC from mechwarrior looks like a mega XL dart flying). at least the aesthetic looks fun for me.
3:57 I've thought the same thing, considering there's nothing new in the line this year and they're trying to clearance the old stuff into oblivion. Hope it's not true, but it would be pretty funny if the most well-received blasters they've made in years were actually huge flops.
@@SacGhostbustersThey might not have performed that well, something we can only speculate on since no one except Hasbro knows the sales numbers. Granted, it's only been 1 year since these blasters came out so it's probably a little early to start worrying.
I have nothing to base this on but going.off of reception of all the "new ammo" blasters mega xl probably had the best launch. Ultra may have sold more due to parents no realizing it used a different ammo. The clearance going on with nerf is happening with more than Mega XL and I think is more related to Covid than the line itself since there are clearances in other aisles as well that are going much longer than they ever have before.
I mean, what's the point of even reviewing Nerf blasters if we keep on focusing on performance, short darts, etc. Might as well outright cancel Nerf and just talk about Dart Zone or any other 3d printed blaster for days. We have to keep in mind that majority of people who have dart blasters do NOT use short darts or competitive ones at all. Edit: We still talk about Nerf because it has the balls to go all out on the gimmicks. It clearly isn't meant for any performance nerfers.
Rayven owner here. (Multiple) Yes it looks great. Yes I will buy one. Yes I will MOD the hell out of it. EDIT: Also - you stop that with the elite dart hate... Just stop mentioning them. Use the naming convention as a blaster "series" moniker. We all know any sensible NERFherder uses waffle darts. Anyone acknowledging elite darts at this point in the game - is a sad panda.
It would be nice if the scope was removable and the master key was an attachment. I guess by having it use Elites throughout you only need one ammo type, not so good for hobby games but better for a toy. I mean, how many people have a demolisher but no rockets turning the launcher into dead weight?
I might regret it…but I’m going to have to buy one of these. If for no other reason than I want to play with the air tank and see what kind of cage I can stuff into this monstrosity, lol! Any opinion on internal upgrade potential Dr. Flux? Awesome, awesome video. Really enjoyed this one more than normal.
What we already know is that the air tank is easy to get some extra power out of simply by tightening a screw and hot gluing some holes. What the maximum potention is, we'll have to find out.
@@flametitan100 Yes! I need two of these, lol…one I can take the air tank out of and replace with a Titan tank, and one to keep the stock tank and replace the flywheels/cage/motor. It will be nice to see what the stock motors can handle before we upgrade them.
I think Mega XL will have new announcements soon. Both rival and hyper had a sort of hiatus before suddenly having new products leaked down the pipeline.
I gotta say, that it has been quite some time since Hasbro built an Elite blaster that was even remotely worth buying new. Yes, it would be awesome if this new blaster shot Mega XL and that was a huge missed opportunity. But we in the hobby make the blasters we want.
I wish they stopped making blasters with built in scopes. With optics in nerf they are either garbage or just don't help due to the resulting accuracy depending on the blaster and ammo you use. Mega XL would be cool, I personally don't use anything other than full length waffle head darts. In my wars people just use stock blaster with no gear so having accurate darts is usually good enough. As for having inaccurate blasters/darts it everyone but mainly kids to enjoy playing with the blasters as nobody gets out before getting to shoot the blaster. I haven't liked a single thing from Elite 2.0 and I don't think there will be any future blaster for me to like in the line. I don't like the look (mainly due to bad coloring), I have a nice amount of blaster already, if I want something that hits harder than I can get something old and mod it or buy a dart zone blaster. I don't think Nerf is irrelevant, they still have a lot of left over blaster that are decent, and the casual/commercial market is satisfied with what they are doing. The best way to get Nerf to improve or die is to ignore it and push everyone interested in the hobby even casuals to get things from other companies/people.
I think nerf does need to innovate, but i dont mind their blasters firing 70fps instead of 120. It would be nice if they made a Pro line that had 100fps ranges, and were half dart exclusive. While they kept their kids lines with dinos and elite.
I mean, Hasbro has a much much larger pool of darts to create. They already need to make: Full Lengths, Mega, Rival, Mega XL, and Hyper rounds. They may have done a cost-analysis to short darts but decided Mega XL or Hyper would have made more profit. Dart Zone can't really branch out other than the short darts since their capital is less.
I think you're being perfectly reasonable. I just started the hobby. I have more Nerf than any other brand yet my Aeon Pro and Spectrum dominate them all... stock 😂 I will give credit where it's due, I'm really enjoying the Rival Fate and Vision. Very accurate with functional sights. But they're still leagues behind my Adventure Force stuff.
The nerf Rayven or Rayven Fire is better than the motoblitz in my opinion because it's small, compact, and has a nice comfortable feel to it. Why can't nerf repaint and release fan loved blasters like the Rayven back into stores?
When are you planning on posting your Ultra Select mod guide? If you're still going to. I'm just wiring mine up like a Rapidstrike but I'm curious to see how you mounted the switches.
I've been pretty bumbed about that video because I had all the internal footage as I did the mod but my old camera corrupted the SD so I lost all the footage. I have since then bought a new camera and need to reshoot all the footage.
Buying a $20 "super high performance" blaster isn't necessarily a good thing. You know full well that the vast majority of Nerf users are kids, and that they often play inside the house. Not everyone lives in a giant mansion. Things that kids can't normally reach can get knocked over or broken. Kids often don't think to wear eye protection, and they are excitable, often firing indiscriminately. Fancy a 100fps dart in your kid's eye? How about people with small gardens, where wayward darts may end up on the busy road outside, or on the neighbour's garden or conservatory roof? We already have Rival, Hyper and Gel blasters, but they're not necessarily ideal replacements for "slow" foam darts. Not to mention the existence and popularity of paintball and airsoft that already fill a similar niche. Don't begrudge Hasbro for keeping dart blasters family friendly.
It's the ONLY blaster Hasbro has put any thought into for 2.0 I'm with the Doc, it's no Rayven. Its neat but it's still garbage. . . To little to late. But it's nice that this terd finally came out. Bot the price on rayvens can finally drop in price and my collection of them can continue to grow. Because 35-40 on green Rayven is getting old...😂 cracks me up when people post the green one as "rare" Rayvenfire FOR LIFE!
im just excited its not a hamp. its nice its actually srewed together but nerf doesn't deserve credit for that. i do agree the front should have had a strike attachment. and the scope being another attachment with the nerf rails i am also surprised nerf isn't trying to transition to half lenths. it would save them money. blasters could be shorter with less plastic. the darts would take half the space for storage and shipping plus they are less material to manufacture. lagistics andmaterials wise it would be a smart move.
My only complaint is that the scope is too low. Its not bad. Its just useless with it being low. I mean sure it wouldnt help in games, but for kids just playing around, it would be a preety cool thing if it wasnt that low
Naw man, the masterkey parts are completely different. One is a HAMP that shoots one Mega at a time, the other is a stored air tank system with a six-dart shotgun spread. They do different things in different ways, so I really don’t think they should be compared the way you are comparing them. It really seems like you’re in “Grumpy Old Man” territory. You even admit yourself the Motoblitz is an upgrade in stock performance. I do think it’s worth being a little excited when Hasbro does listen to the community and put something out that has features we want, and is able to be further modded (unlike the other 2.0 garbage.) Is it the best thing they’ve ever made? Probably not. But is it the best thing they’ve made in a long time? Yeah, I think so.
Great video Doc. Yes MegaXL or Ultra (shoots 3? Pinpoints but comes w 9..and to everyone.. nah nah nah idc i like Ultra and besides its never been seen so its automatically better than the elites i share a vendetts against like the Doc)..i got 3 garbage bags for whoever wants thsm.. and for the love of god they couldve erased half the 2.0 hate if it actually was revamped and they all hit around 80fos..77-79... mid 80s would blow peoples minds.. something to differentiate themselves in their hasbro suckiness by living up to the name. I think its like $45? Who sets their prices? They dont make sense..10 years later it should be like $70.. thats what a green/white longstrike smacks you jn the face with...thank yunz so much hasbruh.. and dont worry bout what all those people say.
it's funny that Hasbro made essentially a mod for Raven, but instead of attaching a Rough cut from below, they made another thing (it looks very goofy why is it white?)
I think anyone who gets into hobby grade blasters, 3D printed stuff, integrations and all are going to become disenfranchised with Nerf products quickly. There's only so much invention they are going to do as a corporation, and they are going to rehash things to death. That said, yes, I prefer days of the Longstrike and Raven and Centurion. I even love my Stampede more than my Hyperfire and more than any Fortnite flywheeler.
NGL, you're opinions are exactly what I thought. This blaster is super cool. But it's super outdated. And being elite 2.0, means it's going to break. Sooner rather then later. Trailblazers are ALREADY being found in-stores, broken. Nerf has all these ammo types, they need to make attachments that fire different ammo types. NO HAMPS. ENOUGH WITH F***ING HAMPS. I understand they're selling based on how impact disperses on targets or objects. But seriously. Stop being dumb, let's make some money Hasbro. You want my money, I want to give you my money. Sell simple springer attachments. Vortex, Ultra, Rival, Mega, Mega XL, Demolisher Rockets. ALL OF IT. I know, Vortex is dead, I know Demolisher Rockets are dead. But stop being dumb Hasbro. You know what the hobby is making? Little Rockets, Proud Papas, Crooked Cousins, THE MISTRESS KEY. THE F***ING MISTRESS KEY which is better then anything. It's so good you can use JUST that and dominate. The fact, that Hasbro refuses to make and sell attachments that fire alternate types of nerf ammo just shows gross incompetence in their leadership. You know when a shot gun blast was relevant? 10 years ago, when people attached roughcuts. Magnus keys feel outdated these days! Hasbro, you wanna make some money? Take a tri-strike, just the main blaster. But make it fire mega darts. Keep the bottom "clip" feed, keep the side priming so it's ambidextrous. Keep the god damn spring power. NOW, make it a barrel attachment. The hobby will do the rest so it's "stable". Now, do it again for your other 30 ammo types. Oh for rival and hyper? Use the hopper system on the rush 40. Come on guys. No one wants a front loading air tank. Edit: Sorry I sound so angry. With corporate America refusing to pay a liveable wage because the 1% refuses to let anyone have anything, resources are very finite, and there's increasingly zero reason to support Hasbro products. Their IPs like Star Wars, Marvel, Nerf, Transformers? They do not care that their actual market is more for adults. Transformers is such an adult market after publicly saying Transformers are for kids, not adults, and hated their adult buyers, they very quickly changed tune. Which is why there's so much support for G1 and now Beast Wars. Star Wars toys basically only sell to adults now, with the "kid" stuff being cheap chunks of plastic, Marvel is nothing but collect them all figures or again, cheap crap. The cheap crap is gimmick-heavy and appeals only to a 5 year old, and tends to be full of small parts that go missing, and make the toy useless. Nerf, if they want to survive. NEEDS to change. And the cheap products, mag releases inside trigger guards that are too small for anyone over 9, and just dumb things like refusing to make waffle darts (because pinpoint ultra is as accurate as an elite dart) is just... just... dumb. They're showing all the signs of a struggling company. When I quit Magic the Gathering, it was because Hasbro was whale hunting. Hasbro needs to do better.
I know you have to review new blasters for the views and channel traffic, but you really should stick to community blasters. You appear to have progressed past what comes off the shelf.
Flux !! they say everything has its place and there is a place 4 everything,.,.,.,, the only place nerf elite krapola darts have is in shot-blasters. because elites only go in directions other than where they got aimed,.,. is why they belong in a shot blast that is meant to affect a whole close quarters area that is spread wider than any single aimed shot you started out negative and sarcastic but then found out its okay after all (stock rayvens actually stink) and then here is a nother reason to like the blitz i wouldnt mind putting the blitz front section on something else anyway.,,.,.,..,, like a longshot.,,. or a Mega Thunder hawk or a modded rayven or the star wars Urso? long stryfe that i put back in the thrift store
You bring up a good Point about the scattershot characteristics of elite darts. I will have to test this out at longer ranges with the Motor Blitz. Thanks for stopping by!
