One week follow up: We now have the hammer and the crossbow. Hammer gets played with every day and the crossbow is sitting in a pile in the garage. Kids were obviously excited when they unboxed the crossbow, but when they actually want to play with a crossbow, they grabbed a Crossbolt and some Rebelle thing. Please don’t buy this crossbow. Your kids deserve better. You deserve better.
If I saw this without the box, I would think it was a smaller company making a blaster that was carefully designed to mimic a Minecraft crossbow without running afoul of Microsoft’s IP lawyers.
So I put it over the chronograph again today for the short review, and the original gray darts that I’ve only fired a handful of times (basically what you see in this video) are hitting 10-15 FPS less. Other darts are firing the same numbers that appear here. Not sure if Hasbro has changed their dart material or what.
I agree with your opinions on this too, but I don't think I was going to get them anyways since I'm not huge into Minecraft. I might get a microshot if they make a Bee one though. Just kinda bummed with the fact knowing this will sell well that Hasbro will just go "well we don't need to paint blasters and make an effort with a lot of stuff, collabs just make money!"
