A great performance of a pleasant work. But I do wish that, in compositions for the trumpet, composers of the Classical epoch had retained the fire, lyricism and general panache of their Baroque predecessors.
Vincente, I'm honoured by your reply. My point was less about the instrument and more about the sort of music composed for the trumpet after about 1750 compared to the stuff written before that date. But I must say I enjoyed this concerto considerably more with further listening.
Brus ko the orchestra is as flawless as the soloist. would be interested to see what you found wrong with the orchestra. their articulation was great and they allowed the soloist to shine. it's quite a challenging piece. do you even play an instrument?
