Nerve resection in tumor- why doctor held negligent- why informed consent is must?/ law and doctor 

here in this case patient was suffering from the tumor of thigh for last 15 year and the tumor was suspected malignant during surgery so doctor to save the life preferred to serve the nerve. but patient filled a negligence case here. Why doctors still lost the case. know the law and what all happened in this case and learn from this case as take home msg so that one can learn from others mistake and take proper consent from the patient.
