The Israeli government has come under fire for its social media rhetoric against Gazan civilians. Israeli government accounts reportedly shared a video in which a freed hostage said, “there are no innocent civilians there (Gaza)”. Israel has been accused of justifying civilian deaths by pushing such videos on social media. Over 37,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza so far, as per Hamas. Israel, however, argues not all civilians in Gaza are innocent.

Gaza’s civilians are all guilty of aiding a resistance to fight illegal occupation. But here’s the thing: most right thinking human beings would do the same under when faced with similar circumstances. We all fight for the right to be free. By contrast, all Israeli civilians are guilty of aiding and abetting an illegal occupation of theft, murder, rape and abuse for 76 years. No right thinking human being should consent to such vile acts. So what does that make all civilians in Israel?
