I truly believe my dog, after 1 year of crossing the Bridge, sent me a kitty. This kitty was adamant about me taking her and I think she was sent by my dog of 14 years. We laugh, because she'd never have sent another dog, but a kitty.....😂❤

I totally relate to her hurt over losing her previous dog. When you have a 4-legged "ride or die" sidekick, nothing fills that void left when they pass except another pet

"Please honor my memory by adopting another dog." That was a meme I received and it stuck with me. Nothing replaces the dog or pet you lost, but you can love another and give a shelter dog the love and care he/she needs and you will have a friend for life. I have loved dogs all my life. We had four at one time and we adored each of them. It was so hard when they passed away at a ripe old age, but we filled our grief with a new furry kid but never forgot the old and I remember each of their birthdays to this day, over 50 years later. I LOVE your Pittie, I also have a Eng/AM Bully (50% English Bulldog 50% American Bulldog) who is the best girl but not so little and very, very strong!

I had a retired racing Greyhound that had been in the system until he was 4. He didn’t know anything either - stairs, windows (day 1 tried to run through a sliding glass door), his reflection, etc. Had never seen another type of dog and was freaked out by them all. Permanently scared of a flushing toilet and wouldn’t voluntarily go in a bathroom. It was wild. Took the better part of a year to acclimate him to being a pet.

All those firsts, at her age! Can’t imagine how miserable a life she must have been living. With such a cuddly personality - she must have been craving those snuggles on the couch for so long, the sweetheart. She has very beautiful eyes too btw. Thank goodness she finally ended up with such fantastic loving parents who obviously value her & would clearly do anything for her. 😢🥰🙏♥️👍

I am always amazed at how forgiving and resilient dogs are. No matter what their past, they are able to move on. I adopted a pit/lab mix that was on the euthanasia list. At the shelter he just walked around with his tail between his legs. On the ride home (over an hour) he laid in the back of the car with his head up as if to say "I am going to a better place."

I imagine people get nervous or scared of her appearance, and she's the perfect sweetie pie to be a great ambassador, and teach folks to not judge a book by its cover (or dog by its breed/appearance)! I'm happy she has the best forever home with loving, doting parents❤ Her jaunty walk is the cutest too🥰

It’s always best to get another animal to love to ease your pain and give another a new life! As a pet lover it’s your duty to continue living as any as you can i’m on dig #6 and 2 cats! I wouldn’t be with out a pet and will continue to be a pet mom until i no longer can!

I can imagine what you went through when you lost that black dog of yours, went through that MANY times over these past 40-50 years. I think that, at least ONE reason we are so heart broken over losing a beloved animal is, they help us gauge the passage of time. Now, I look at the wrinkles in my face (in the mirror), not so much on a dog’s face.

I know exactly what you mean. I feel and think ... no, I actually know ... my tortoiseshell cat who I had for almost 22 years ( she and I had such a close connected bond) ... sent my Maine Coon cat to me on exactly the same date she passed, only 5 years later. His bond and mine are uncannily the same, as mine and hers was. I am so incredibly blessed 🙂🐈

I only lasted a month when I knew I needed another dog. I was so sad and crying many times. I’m a dog dude but I love most animals. So I went to the animal shelter and Dolly saved me from me. I’m so very that you got your dog. Stay happy

It's very painful to loose an animal, but there are so many animals that they need a home, and I assure you that it would be easier the healing process from your loss, by helping one that really needs it.
