Holy crap, I almost cried watching the video! I used to play this with my mom when I was a kid in the 80's (I'm 32 😬). I haven't seen my family in 12 years as I live in Maryland and they live overseas. Now I'm all nostalgic, 80's was the best! Justine is the best!

fsociety I'm guessing because you need to physically get up and push the power on or reset button when you want to change games most people want to keep the console close to them so they didn't find the need to make the cord too long.

No, most people prefer to sit comfortably and play their games without having to drag the console across the room via extension cord. I will purchase this beauty but to think it's not intentional by Nintendo to make a short cord so they can sell accessories is idiotic. Can't wait for the Nintendo controller with the home button in the middle!

The original actually runs off 5 volts and less than 2 amps, so it could have been powered by USB in theory, if it existed at the time.

The NES PSU is 9V, but as soon as it enters the console the voltage is converted down to 5V using an LM7805 voltage regulator and the whole console runs off that 5V, so it could run off USB. That's why I gave out that "misinformation".

Maximilian Spartacus it's call supporting the company and makers. I also have emulators and roms. from gb,gbc,gba,nds,psp,ps1,ps2, mame, finalburn alpha, genesis,snes,n64,dreamcast,Saturn and wonderswan. I do have the original consoles so it'll be much fun to have on deck. besides the arcade machine. em cost too much.

Um, what does the original release date matter? The NES was commercially available for years, and people still have them. My niece who was born in 2000 first played video games on my Atari 2600 and NES, so that's some of her childhood.

I'm confused by the reactions on this comment. The console uses two cables, both can be plugged into the TV. This saves a wall outlet and is better for the placement of the console.

Disappointing that the controller cord isn't very long but still excited regardless. I suggested a few years ago Nintendo come out with a new NES system where you could save your games and I'm glad they made it a reality :)

I was in 1998 and I grew up with DialUp, a E Machine running Windows 98 CRT monitor and CRT TVs. As well as the PS2. Which we played on our 20 inch (maybe) Sanyo CRT TV. We still use CRTs with our converter boxes. I miss those days.... I grew up with my brother playing our Sega Genesis on our 1980s CRT TV....

Did you hear that when this thing was first announced that people were complaining that it wouldn't play more than the 30 preinstalled games? Apparently people wanted the thing to be able to connect to the internet and get more. Be grateful for what Nintendo is giving you! SPOILED BRATS! Austin's GFX I wish it had batman as that was an excellent nes game but overall the nes mini seems to be of really high quality.It's much better than the sega Genesis one with 80+ game's as it had bad emulation and crappy video output and mediocre audio.

I'm looking forward to final fantasy 1 , I got it for my 10th birthday. I got to chaos but he was so difficult so I was planning on going back and leveling up before I fought him again but somehow misplaced the game or lost the game in the house . I was upset that I wasn't able to finish the game but now i'm 36 years old and can't wait to get a hold of this console. also super Mario 2 my parents never bought it for us only 1 and 3 , I played 2 a little bit in the past but never finished it or got close would love to beat that game as well. Can't wait to get my hand on this. hope you enjoy this system your a lucky girl. it's hard to find unless you want to pay expensive prices on ebay, i'd rather wait it out.

More of these are purportedly coming out this summer (2018). Definitely looking forward to picking up one myself as well and have been loving the SNES Classic. At least I have my Nintendo top-loader and carts to hold me over until then.

As a kid I grew up in my cousin's house and they played this console all the time. I just watch them play all day as they wouldn't allow me to play. Now I can afford to buy one but what's the sense.

Nevermind the NES Classic Edition, get the Hyperkin Retron5 instead. Backward compatible with nine classic video game consoles versus stuck with 30 games that you won't be able to add more to with the Classic.

Richard Wright Well tell that to Hyperkin. My Retron 5 sits in a box and is unusable. But because I live in Canada I can't get it fixed, despite it saying right in the manual that the warranty is good for Canada and the US. They refuse to repair it and told me straight out "go buy another Retron 5". That is bullshit I shouldn't have to buy another one because the original one I purchased quit working within their warranty time frame. Hyperkin makes crap products. I bought one of their Genesis controllers and it worked like dog shit as well. Lucky I later found a OEM later to replace it.

She was born in 1984, so I think she's about 32 yrs old. She's old enough to know about the NES from her childhood for sure. It came out in 1985 in the US, and circulated into a lot of homes in the early 90's. They usually sat around at flea markets, second hand stores, or in your friend's basement.

This new 2018 NES classic is exactly the same as the original except the board on the inside is the same as the one inside the SNES classic. I have an original NES classic and SNES classic. Apparently there weren't many extra controllers made for the first run of the NES classic. I scooped up 2 NES classic controllers. I have an original NES, SNES, an SNES jr and original games for both systems as well. These miniaturized versions of classic consoles is a great idea for those that don't have the space, time or money to track down the original retro systems. Great vid.

The original NES controllers had 90 inch cables. The controllers for this things have 30 inch cables. And they don't use USB ports either... so the only solution is using a longer HDMI cable to bring the actual console closer.

Just got one of these the other day. All I needed was for it to be Saturday morning right after ninja turtles with a bowl of captain crunch or lucky charms and it would’ve been perfect but for now at least I get this. I will hug it and squeeze it and brush it and call it George!

Just got my SNES classic unoxed. Still have not been able to find this!The list of games is great and really does bring you back to your childhood gaming days! Zelda 2,Ghosts n goblins,Final Fantasy,Double Dragon 2 and Super Contra would probably be my top 5 to play first here.

These are the types of unboxing videos that I like. The ones that you don't have to wait a whole 5 minutes for the actual unboxing to begin. And plus, She actually plays it more then other people. i just bought this one for $80 on ebay and it has 750+ games on it most of the NES titles i now have the snes and the nes mini complete I'm one happy dude no more having to buy the cartridges seperate and blowing inside them like i use to megaman mario donkey kong tetris metroid zelda castlevania real classics

I miss these games when I was growing up, Nintendo & PlayStation were my childhood. I wish I could get this NES classic edition but the price for it now by others is over $100 compared to it originally being $60 😢😢😢
