I agree with Bingle. If they don’t agree to a coffee date as the first date, there’s no need to push further. I was typing this as he said “crunchyroll and pick-a-hole” and choked on my coffee.

I think I had the ultimate bad first date spot. I was dating this girl for a week or so, we had went to school together so we knew eachother in the past so it was pretty cool and we got along and dated casually. For our first date I told her to drive us wherever she wanted and we'd have lunch and find some fun activities for the afternoon. She drove us to a graveyard where she showed me the tombstone of her dead son who had died as an infant some years ago whom I had no idea even exhisted before that point. I am sorry that happened to her, but that should have been a conversation to have before making it our first date thing.

This is almost as tragic as your attempts to rescue us.

Coffee dates are the perfect low stress, casual and friendly, "get to know each other" date. Like, first date is for sussing each other out, and then you step up after that. This entire list would die at the first date I had with my ex. Literally IHOP and Bowling. Edit to add: Waffle House is an entertaining date if you go to watch the fights. Black Friday? I'd go just for the show.

That list seems made by someone who believes first dates must be super high quality. And as someone who has no interest in dating, that seems dumb.

I love how this started because a women was an hour late then complained when he took her to Cheesecake Factory because they missed their reservation. At that point I would've just taken her home and been done with her. But my rules for first dates were somewhere public where we both bring ourselves (so we both feel safe), then I'd just ask what they want to do. My most successful first date was Taco Bell then a few rounds of paintball.

I love how a video on unacceptable first date spots is just one giant tangential food conversation. Also coffee dates are fine. If the other person wants somewhere expensive, they are just fishing for a free fancy meal, and aren't worth the time.

Wtf does that person want?? A five star restaurant on the first date? Like god damn I would LOVE a bowling alley as a first date. Whoever made that list sounds snobby.

One of the taco trucks in my area did so well they built a restaurant on the spot they used to park their truck

I like that this list just absolutely obliterates the entire dating culture for the greater Oceanic region as a whole.

I only read through part of the list before stopping, i had no idea it was THAT bad...

Some of those restaurants I would avoid simply because there are *so many* good places near me that aren't expensive and are far better than, say, IHOP. I also have personal biases against some places, but I'd be communicative and wouldn't throw a fit if someone tried to take me to one of them. But yeah, this list was very clearly written by someone looking for expensive free food, not someone interested in establishing relationships or getting to know people.

Most of those options would be fine with me. This list maker doesn't like fun or food, apparently. There's nothing wrong with coffee dates.

The people making this list seem to hate food, drink, and fun... I'm not sure dating will ever be an issue for them.

If I'm taking someone to a waffle house we are well past first date territory. That is a liminal space adventure and we're closer to final test lands than first date.

I've never actually gone on a date but even i can tell some of those choices are wrong. Did that person want a fine dining experience on the first date wtf?

So that only leaves the first date to be at a fancy restaurant which will cost you more than a Nintendo Switch. :p Now that really makes me decide to be forever alone. :(

See I agree with no ice cream on a first date strictly 'cause I'm lactose intolerant. I LOVE ice cream dates but that's at least second date material.
