The burp rags are great cleaning rags when you are done with kids anyways so definitely don't get rid of any! Also great for makeup removal :) And whether or not you have too many depends entirely on how much your baby ends up spitting up 🤷♀️😅 some kids do a lot, some barely any 😊
You will be glad to have that many burp rags because you won't need to do laundry as frequently. Also, if you notice they are just sitting around, you can feel confident sending them in the diaper bag for grandparents, etc. Of course, as time goes by, they make great cleaning rags!
It’s interesting. I had that same advice to have a lot of burp rags. I got a decent amount but with my first baby, I didn’t really use them as much as I was told I would need too 😂 but they will be used for our July baby soon so hopefully they won’t be a waste of money with him 😅
Just put some of the burp cloths away to use if you have another child. That way only a few get used. The amount you need is dependent on your child. Some newborns have formula intolerance or reflux.
My soon-to-be arriving baby has one little drawer with all of her clothes, blankets and diapers next to her other sisters’ drawers. You really don’t need much at all for a newborn.
That’s about right if you have a girl who decides at 4 months that breastfeeding isn’t enough and you have to switch to formula with cereal in it. It was a rough transition but every burp cloth ended up in their own load of laundry every week…
I had six burp rags for my daughter. They lasted me 4-5 days. She wasn’t a super spit up prone baby. So I think if your baby spits up a lot, you’re set. But if your baby is like my daughter, then it’s a little excessive.
Definitely too much burp rags. You don’t want them to be sitting dirty too much time, the smell is terrible. You will have to wash them often anyways. You could have started with half or third the amount you have and then adjust according your baby’s needs. You can order online an have them at home in two days max. For future moms, Same goes with clothes and diapers. Have enough to last 5-7 days and buy as you need. In those first months they size up very quickly and stock pile doesn’t pay off.
We stocked up on burp rags too and my son never really spit up. 🤷 Most babies spit up, he was unusual, but like everything else it depends on the baby and you won't know until they arrive what you will need for each one unfortunately. Haha maybe you'll need all of them tho
One of mine had reflux, projectile vomiting after nearly every feed...a whole load of burping cloths and wipes every day. He did grow out of it! Eventually. 😊
I don't understand the whole rag thing all the ones that are specifically made for that aren't even good at soaking up spit up just regular cheap hand towels are where it's at for me.
