My husband was very lightheaded during our 1st birth, and then delivered my 2nd in his truck on the side of the road, all alone with no EMS! It was like two different people 😂

My husband was paper white and scared the first time too. Birthing is like an entire different way of existing and they’re just not used to seeing you in such a primal state. The energy switch is massive and only truly gets like that when birthing. Once they survive it once and they see you make it through and come back into yourself it gets better! He’s been a pro with the births after the first one. About to pop out number four and he is interested in catching this time if I don’t catch instead myself. 😁 my other kiddos will get to come this time too since I am having a home birth and trying to find some ways to help them be involved. My older boys are going to be the ones helping with setup of birthing space. My oldest boy knows ALL of my supplies and the madness that went into planning and organizing. He is so stoked to be in charge of the birthing pool and setting up my supplies should I need them. Trying to figure up a good way for my two year old girlie to be involved as well. I also happen to be an apprentice midwife and a doula so to us birth is totally everyday life. She is fascinated by “pwacenta” (placentae) so maybe she can help cut the cord or something 🤣

I spent a couple sleepless nights cataloging all of the lightbulb types we needed in our house. It was very important to me (for some reason) that I had a complete list of each light and the lightbulbs they required in case the burned out. That nesting energy is crazy!

Loved this video ! It is so helpful for young Moms. You amaze me with all that you accomplish! I am a Mother to 3 grown children and we have 5 granddaughters! We have an Ella too! I babysit 2 of my granddaughters. Ella is in school, and Ava is 3 and in preschool. My husband and I are retired and we babysit the girls while parents are at work. I love watching your crockpot meals. Since I am so busy now, it helps to have these recipes to make dinner time easier. You have also given me a lot of motivation and ideas for better organization. Your family is so adorable. I always look forward to watching your videos!

My babies lived in sleepers with a onesie underneath and a hat on their head too for the 1st few months too. Need to have lots of sleepers over outfits I think. I totally agree with you about the snow suit and car seat. Just a thick blanket, warm clothing and a hat is all they need. I always kept a blanket over their head and a hat to cover ears to block wind and cold. My babies loved their pacifiers too. Love the idea of giving the older kids gifts from the new baby. I also love your dress, it looks so cute on you. You are so right about not needing as much as you think you do for a new baby. Unnecessary things get bought and never used. One thing i did love and use daily was my boppy pillow, baby swing, rocking chair and little bouncy reclined chair for babies before they can sit up on their own. Must haves.

Same boat. 35 weeks and 3 days today. Just started nesting within the last two weeks or so. Didn’t do much before that except buy some clothes after we found out we were having a girl. Third kid. Nothing left from previous babies because I also had decided I was done. However my husband had been wanting another for over a year and I finally gave in. Just got the bassinet together today. And over the weekend just finally washed every piece of clothing and car seat cover and everything. So ready for baby already.

It’s been almost five years since I had my third and last baby and I remember being so late to the party for nesting. I remember just really wanting everything to be close by in my room. Since you used to be a l&d nurse. Can you do a video on the dos and donts with a newborn? I’m due with my first nov 16! I had no idea you weren’t supposed to trim their fingernails at first because they’re still attached to the skin. I feel clueless on what to do 🤣 I would love to hear your advice on everything, even how to keep their temp regulated like you mentioned.
