Nesting?? Getting the house in order BEFORE baby # 15 

It is upsetting to hear that people say such things about your children, to me they are amazing, the way they help you. When they leave home they will definitely be able to take care of themselves. I wish more people were like you. I love your family.

Your kids are making memories. You are a good Mom. There is no house where families are home all day where things look pristine. Your kids will look back fondly on their childhood. Some people have ridiculous expectations, and they have no right to criticize you.

You don’t have a dirty home! You have a loving home! You are an amazing family. God bless you all.

In order to clean and organize, you have a mess until you are done. You Don,t worry about what others think. Your children are well cared for. Thinking and praying for you.

If I had to guess, the only people who have a problem with your house are the people who don't do STUFF in their houses!

Don't over stress about things. The older girls might enjoy setting up the sewing /craft room up while you are recovering after having the baby. Some of the other simple changes can be done at this time. I give all of your family all of the kuddos to all that you get done in a day. I don't have children at home anymore. However, when we are in canning season our house chores do fall slightly behind. Keep being the amazing family you are.❤❤

With your wood stove, coat it with olive oil a few times while it's hot. Will smoke but will bring it back. I do this once a year.

I was raised on a farm and it never hurt me. I have now raised my two sons, retired and relaxing. You need to slow down and have your baby. The older girls will surprise you what they can do. Don't pay attention to what people say. Take care. .

I hear you , being a mom of 15 children. I have never had a babysitter, or my older children babysit the last six of my children. My husband and I do our watching of our children. People think older children always take over in larger families ( wrong ). Your home redo looks great! I have 17 grandchildren I surely know about wear and tear! My older children don't keep my children, but as a grandma, I do have my grandchildren here at our home. It will be never-ending, and that is what family is about! My children will be 18 until they stay home alone overnight, 16 no more than a few hours just a house rules. I only have 4 daughters and only one at home, she is 15, and she is little help but fun as can be. My girls are 51, 38, 30, and 15. The 51 daughter is my first born she made me a mom. My baby just turned 3❤

My friends thought that I was crazy to do heavy fall cleaning. I'm also going to rearrange furniture some for when Christmas gets here.

I think you're amazing, you have a warm loving, lived in home not a stepford wife show house lol. I remember my nesting phase, with my oldest (23 years ago), i couldn't get my kitchen floor to look 'clean' enough no matter how many times I kept mopping it, so I ended up while 8 &1/2 months pregnant, on my hands and knees, with a scrubbing brush, then I was happy lol.

I have the same wood cookstove as you. To prevent the rusting on the top you can season it like cast iron with grease of your choice. Once you scrub the rust off then heat it up and lightly grease it with tallow or lard. Wipe it off thouroughly and it prevents rust. Hope that's helpful.

O, my, You and the girls are inspiring me! I'm doing mold remediation and everything is currently living in the main room of my house. You gave me hope about what awaits me in these next few days. When my kids were younger, my teen girls did some creative painting to their bedroom walls. they painted a medium purple 🟣 took a little bit lighter lavender🪻 color and then a bit of white and dipped rags in it and stamped / blotted it all over the walls for a sort of marble effect. That lasted for years because you could never tell if it got a ding or scratch in the paint. It was so loved by their friends so much, it started a trend. One did burgundy and grey, another did a light yellow with pastels and a brother did midnight blue with stars (he found some sort of stencils for them) it was easy and no worries of messing anything up because there was no pattern to it.

I laughed out loud when I read what you wrote above about home needing after canning cleaning.....if it was only that canning but you have worked so hard all summer,gardening,cooking freezer meals,making soaps and shampoos,butchering,keeping your family fed,doctor appt,grocery shopping,clothes sorted for the kids,and taking care of ur kids needs,plus your camping trip and hiking with kids o my goodness I am give out....the list just goes on...no wonder ur poor back hurts...your home is loved and lived in and wau so organized....living room is beautiful...with all that seating and rug...now rest yourself mamabear...love you and ur family...God's Blessings...

Love the big metal cabinets on wheels~ yes to moveable storage! Your home reminds me so much of my Aunt Pat & Uncle Bill's home, which was my favorite place to be~ my refuge in a very stormy childhood/young adulthood. I was only able to spend summers w/them, but they were the best months & years of my life, to say the least. We even had the same electrical cords running everywhere, since their house was built in stages, from about 1920 onward, & the electric was inconsistent throughout. Downstairs bathroom was awesome~ all pink & black ceramic tile, floor to ceiling, pale pink toilet/sink/shower & tub~ LOVED that bathroom, which was original from the late 40's I believe. ANYhow, your place is clearly newer, & not quite as hodge-podge w/additions & such, but the overall look & feel sure does take me back to that love filled house on Redland Road in Oregon. *So fun to see & hear your ideas & seasonal changes~ you really are quite organized, amazing. =) Thanks for sharing w/us MB.Sammy in AZ

I think you do amazing at organizing with so many people in a relatively area - all work area - from growing seeds to processing to canning to sewing to reading to crafts and all your other projects as well as being pregnant and traveling to appointments. Another family is blessed with a summer kitchen. Another family is adding an addition. Another family is building a Newhouse. I know you are content and happy as you are. But my dream for you is that you can have a means someday to modernize and make life easier for you. You do such a good job with what you have. I watched my 2 year old granddaughter and I couldn’t keep ahead of her. I can’t keep ahead of my -adult daughter I live with. But you have 14 under a roof! I’m just praising you -and would love to see you blessed. I just got home from a sedated dental procedure so I’m not sure if this will be coherent. I was thinking about Prince Harry who has lived a privileged life - yet he complains. I’m thankful for a roof over my head. I had more, and never stopped realizing how blessed I was.

Give your daughters my thumbs up! I had to help my mom a lot being the oldest daughter. My other sister was 10 years younger, and a twin. Praying all goes well with the new baby.

I don't know why I still get surprised by the rudeness of people, but I still do. I'm sure the rude comments are left by childless cat ladies and those who wish to become childless cat ladies. Please ignore them. Jealousy has a way of rearing its ugly head. I only raised 4 kids. My 3rd was like a tornado went through my house. There was always a trail of chaos in his wake. He can still be like that and he grew up to be an Engineer. You'd think he'd be a neat freak by now. I love big families, and I do wish that I had had more babies. Which is probably why I found your channel.

If you put yourself out there I think you need to accept not everyoone will agree with what you do and not worry about it. My parents came from very large families and mostly felt like they were just slave labor. They had no individual nurturing from their parents, and absolutely no privacy for themselves. All in all not a great childhood. I hope yours is a happier reality.
