Having purchased this NET edition some time ago and becoming familiar with it, I am quite impressed. Very well translated and put together. Excellent commentary!

I appreciate the review. Honest. The age of the manuscripts are also important. For example: earlier ones say "Christos", that bears more weight than later ones saying "Theos". I ordered the NET 2019 fullnotes and I'm very excited about receiving a physical copy. My opinion is that this type of Bible has been long overdue! And I mean centuries overdue. As I understand copyrights have been an issue in the past and the sponsor/creators of this Bible have overcome this obstacle as well through -in part- working together. If something like a religion is supposed to have someone's life evolved around ir or guided by, one deserves to know at least more explanation ro have access to all there is about it. (Yes, I understand that many Manuscripts were not found yet since long, but even in the Medieval times, the populus deserved to know what was being said and where it came from.)

The Biblegateway website has not only the NET translation, but it also has all the textual and study notes that this edition has, assuming of course that the footnotes has been ticked in the gear icon. It's very useful to have it all on there. With that said, I do have this edition in a brown leather edition and it's a cool Bible. I really like it. It's interesting and informative to see the textual variants between the majority of manuscripts (represented a lot of the time by the textus receptus, present in the KJV and NKJV) and the oldest manuscripts, present in the Nestle Aland and United Bible Societies critical text (represented by most modern translations). You can see how translation committees make their decisions with translation and textual choices by reading these notes, which is super helpful.

The nerd Bible is right; I love mine! I am admittedly a Bible nerd.

Why did Thomas Nelson have a part in the NET when it's an erroneous translation. It's not even the Textus Receptus texts.

"an erroneous translation" I'm afraid you failed to understand the nature of the NET Bible Fullnotes or even what the narrator in the video is talking about. It both saddens and annoys me that you wish to pose yourself as someone of superior thought, but your comment carries a poor rendtion thereof. Please, try to understand what the makers of the NET Bible with full notes are trying to offer.

@@Rain-Dirt the NLT is an erroneous translation from the erroneous alexandrian of Egypt manuscripts.

@@alanhales1123 The video is about the NET Bible (FULL Notes), not the NLT. That aside, speaking of "erroneous" translations when discussing mutliple translations in regard of the Bible is amusing, when a lot is about interpretations. I personally am allergic to "my dad is the best dad" mentality. My religion is the only true religion, my denomination is the only true denomination, blablablabla. No translation will be perfect. We have no idea how many manuscripts we haven't found yet, but of what we have, we can be thankful. The NET Bible FULL NOTES edition is precisely about multiple different interpretations, sources and to why a certain interpretation is chosen, based on a vast amount of manuscripts that we have access to today. For someone who likes to go to the source, I'm very appreciative of this Bible having been made and will take it for what it is. Not as the only truth, but as a source of a lot of information that we normally do not have "access" to. Peace

@@Rain-Dirt I'm sorry, My mistake. The NET Bible is just as erroneous as the NLT and other modern translations. God had inspired all the Manuscripts that are true, to be found. If other manuscripts were inspired by God, Then He would have had them found in the first century.

@@alanhales1123 Lol :) What is going on here... hahaha. Okay, it's very clear the NET BIble is not for you, albeit somewhat ironic. But you do you, buddy! Take care.
